It was wonderful to see both Maya and Blue 33(11) return much earlier this year. Maya arrived back on the 21 March and 33(11) on 27 March .
Since arriving back Maya and 33 have reestablished their partnership and are busy preparing their nest to hold these precious eggs which we so eagerly await.
Maya laid her eggs after 9 days last year so we could see eggs anytime from 6 April.
33 flew in .. mated and then flew off again. He then returned again with something in his talons which I think was moss
Maya flies off leaving 33

33 has just returned with a huge stick which he plonks on Maya!
Maya took off, removing the stick from her back, and has quickly returned and settled on the egg
I've got to go now ... I'm sure it will be a lovely day here. Enjoy the view :-) SYL
Phew 33 don't stand on the egg !!
Fantastic to know there's an egg! Looking forward to the next two, and hoping all goes well for them.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Cam has been zoomed in and some nice close ups
33 incubating
33 rises
33 then mates and takes off leaving Maya to take over
Intruder around just now ... 33 and Maya on the nest mantling.
33 just returned and mantling. ? intruder?.
