It was wonderful to see both Maya and Blue 33(11) return much earlier this year. Maya arrived back on the 21 March and 33(11) on 27 March .
Since arriving back Maya and 33 have reestablished their partnership and are busy preparing their nest to hold these precious eggs which we so eagerly await.
Maya laid her eggs after 9 days last year so we could see eggs anytime from 6 April.
Yes it is 33 incubating, he got up but I wasn't quick enough to get a screen shot.

33 is having a lot of bother getting the egg just right, he has been up and down, a little roll, up then down again. :-)

Maya must have been close by because this is what happened next :-)
Great news.
Birdies LG DU update.
Morning all and thanks for all the earlier captures Mary. And I can see the sun:-)
Maya has really surprised us ... 8 days from mating to laying her first egg is really early I think. No holding her back:-)
Lovely to see 33 incubating .... last year he took to it like a duck to water so expect to see him to do so again.
Maya incubating just now.
Good morning, thank you for all the grabs from yesterday, everytime I popped in the nest was empty up until the egg laying :)
They certainly seem to have been on a mission this year, very efficient.

She quickly returns followed by 33

Yes Karen I was surprised by that I thought Lassie would have laid first, there is no stopping Maya though LOL
Jane - glad you saw the egg laying :-))
Mary - I too thought LoTL would be first.
I just hope now that Maya is incubating that there are no more intrusions. I was quite surprised to see no mention in yesterday's blog of the intruder landing on the nest. We (and Maya!) certainly don't want to see this now!
Yes I was looking forward to finding out who the legs belonged to in your capture Karen :-)
