It was wonderful to see both Maya and Blue 33(11) return much earlier this year. Maya arrived back on the 21 March and 33(11) on 27 March .
Since arriving back Maya and 33 have reestablished their partnership and are busy preparing their nest to hold these precious eggs which we so eagerly await.
Maya laid her eggs after 9 days last year so we could see eggs anytime from 6 April.
You're welcome Jane :-)
Hopefully we see no more intrusions or landing on the nest like one male did this morning with Maya now getting close to laying her first egg.
Last year Maya laid her first egg 9 days after mating. The team are predicting tomorrow. I think Wednesday .. anyone one else care to guess :-)
But can't wait ... so eggciting :-)
Maya arrived on the nest followed by 33. Not sure what he has in his talons - fish piece?

Anyway, he takes off with it leaving Maya on the nest.
Edit: Yes it was a fish piece ... 33 returned with it which Maya took and flew off with. 33 followed.
ENS now. Must go ... BFN
Maya has laid her first egg, not sure what time.
Maya incubating her first egg
Rutland have reported it about 20 minutes ago. That girl doesn't waste any time with the egg laying!
