HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat Thread is here.
In the U.S., we change to Daylight Saving Time tonight. I shared this link on my Facebook page, and I thought I'd include it here. This is Shades State Park (Forest), which is just down the road from me. My grandfather was a park ranger there for many years. It's one of my favorite places in the world. I'm so ready for spring weather.
Everyone have a wonderful week!
I think I'll just say that Trump, by all appearances and utterances, thoroughly deserves his smelly surname.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
And his mother was an immigrant to US from the Western Isles of Scotland. Oh dear.
Yes, well he clearly got his father's genes (his Dad was the son of German immigrants). You don't see any Germans trumpeting his origins do you? They're not stupid! :-)
So, OH’s package was from Dau#2, but I had notification that mine for him has been dispatched, so maybe it will arrive tomorrow for the actual day! Didn’t get on exactly perfectly with new dentist – his manner is mostly fine, and technique good, but I couldn’t tolerate the X-rays (as usual) and he was very critical about that. He said I was obviously fighting against having them, so I volunteered to come back for them next week. Not sure what that will prove if I fail again, but hopefully he will believe me then! OH scarified most of the front grass, but will have to finish the last little bit tomorrow. I spent much of the afternoon making Easter cards and writing little notes in them.
I read and enjoyed today’s posts, news and stories and then typed the above; then I went to watch a (recorded) programme about James Clerk Maxwell and with all his mathematical equations and electro-magnetic theories buzzing in my head, I don’t think I can concentrate on any replies! So I shall leave it here and make a fresh start tomorrow, so just a big thank you for all contributions today.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
{{{LOTS OF HUGS}}} for Margo.
.
Harelady – I smiled at you turning blue in the rain..
Annette – Hamster’s green bottom reminded me of a book MissJ fetched for me yesterday “Everyone’s got a bottom”. I didn’t get a chance to read the text as she was busily turning pages looking for the cat on each page (sometimes just paws or a tail). There seem to be parents, 2 boys, baby, G-pa in story. I shall leave it to Dau to explain the role of bottoms in our lives. Then MissL presented me with a miniature version of the Easter story – lots of angels and the wee ones lisped ‘Jesus’ at the last page.
Diane – Your sycamore, how beautiful in its winter glory. I think bare branches are so fascinating. Its cousin, the London plane tree is a popular street tree in Adelaide.
OG – I dislike critical dentists. I can’t help having a small mouth. My current dentist is very understanding. The only downside is that we are the same age and one day he will retire. He says not and we joked about coming in, both on our gophers.
Not been on yet this week but hope everyone is OK.
Just been setting up for videoing and observing nest with VCL as well as the Carnyx connection.
Been out this evening to a performance of Stainer's Crucifixion - really put you in the mood for Easter. Lovely performance.
Annette and Diane - I don't know how you feel about the election campaigns so far but looking at it from here I dread to think what is going to happen if Trump gets in but I suppose what will be will be.

Just read through all your news.
Brenda , thanks for letting us know about Margo. Indeed it was a very long day for her lets hope the news was encouraging today. Always thinking of her and OH who is supporting her through everything.
Texted bro. today re our family home and the builder has still not resolved issued with the council over the building work so he is still living in a hovel so to speak. To top it all his faithful companion, Percy (cat) was in a RTA last night and he has had to take him to the vets. Sedated, got through the night had an operation today to fix his jaw and then he was being transferred to another vets apparently for further treatment. Can only hope for him that Percy pulls through. Picture of him in 2013
Take care all. At least now the nest is on cam again and we have another season to look forward to.
Happy Birthday to Eagle-Eye!!!
Evening all:
OG: Can't believe the dentist was so critical about the X-rays! I have a hard time with them too, but "fighting against having them" is hardly the case. Some people just have a strong gag reflex.
AQ: I think Ms D had Everyone Poops at one point. We had Winnie the Pooh when I was small; don't remember anything about bodily functions in that. :-)
Lynette: Diane and I are running away to Canada if Trump gets in. Do hope the business with the family home is resolved soon; also that Percy will be okay.
Off to meet daughter for quickie breakfast tomorrow. Didn't get much accomplished today. Oh well.
LYNETTE lovely pic of Percy Do hope he will be ok
