The purpose of this thread is to record observations, activity and captures of Rutland’s Manton Bay nest throughout the season.
The nest at Manton Bay has been in use since 2007 and its history can be found here.
I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
The arrival was spotted by the watchers on site and John is on his way to the hide.
Birdies LG DU update.
oooh Mike, thanks for the intel! how do you always know these things? :)
for all we know she has caught a fish and is happily eating it on the perch, watching her nest.. but I do think Maya might have tarried there just a bit longer than this bird did...
(the word tarried is for you, Scylla...)

YAY! Back again!
It does look like Maya actually, I think it does anyway...

Who is to know the mind of an osprey? In 2011 I will always believe that Lady (Loch of the Lowes) came back for a very short time and then disappeared for six hours.
