The purpose of this thread is to record observations, activity and captures of Rutland’s Manton Bay nest throughout the season.
The nest at Manton Bay has been in use since 2007 and its history can be found here.
I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
I wonder if we'll see Blue28? I can't remember if he found a partner and nest in the end :-/
IMAGICAT
Scylla - The subject of Blue 28 came up a couple of days ago on the Rutland Osprey Thread when discussing Lagoon 4 where Blue 28 first hung out in 2013 and was seen often by Vespra Crabro who posted that he did pair up last year with 2F(12), his sister!, at an unnamed site. Link to VC's post
FIRST OSPREY BACK AT RUTLAND
25(10) arrived last night at Site B. Last year she visited the MB nest so we could see her !!
Egyptian Goose on the nest again.
Kind regards, Ann
...and still around this morning.
Birdies LG DU update.
There's been a couple on the nest, one of them posturing persistently, and having to do some defending against unseen intruders:
I'm only doing the wide-angle cam so it's not very HD.
Like your fancy frames Scylla :-)
EG still on the nest early this morning, this shot I took earlier, no nice sunrise though. :-(
I would have posted it earlier but I couldn't find the snip LOL... It went into another folder.
