HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY LEAP YEAR DAY (MONDAY)!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
Annette: This is the way that you encourage moles and gophers to leave your property. LOL LOL
Everyone have a wonderful week.
SunnyKate: Good to see you popping in. Never heard of Broccoli rub, but why shouldn't it work? :-)
Clare: Hate the smell of broccoli, but love the taste, cooked or raw - and it's sooooo good for you! Ohhh, and then there are brussel sprouts! Yum!
OG: I suspect you'd find a lively jazz scene in the larger cities; there seems to be a niche for everything. I mean, whodathunk vinyl records would make a comeback?
Eagle-Eye: Good to see you too.
Wendy: Have a lovely trip.
Heather: Your OH's hearing loss must make for some frustration on the home front too. Not good that the expensive hearing aids didn't do the trick.
Brenda: Do hope Lindybird and OH get some time in the sun. How come everyone's getting rain but us?
No whale counting at all yesterday. Got up this morning, ready to go for a walk and discovered I was missing my soft and comfy zip up jacket. It was a cheapo thing from Costco but a lovely pale gray and very serviceable. Have called hotels and awaiting news back; also granddaughter as I was at her house (feeding horses and washing dishes) the morning I left AZ. Bother!
I like eating broccoli, but not sure I would want to smell of it, because of a cream.Just seen the meteor pictures on the news. Rather dramatic to see.
Linda has enjoyed a sunny day, so hopefully the weather looks to be improving.
Eagle-eye, Thanks for your 24hr rain count. That is a lot of rain, especially as there has already been so much. I wouldn't think that your garden needed any at the moment.
Annette, I do hope your jacket is found. So upsetting when you find that you may have lost an 'old friend'.
BRENDA- happy that the clouds are lifting for LINDA. Please pass on my good wishes!
ANNETTE- What a pest to lose your jacket especially if it is your 'go to' comfy one. Hope that you get it back. Yes, it is frustrating for both OH and I, this hearing loss. But luckily I have never been soft spoken!
Well, snow is forecast for Scotland. We'll see what happens.
Heather hopefully it won't last as daytime temps are so much warmer nowadays along with the longer days ...
Phew Spring soon :-)
That is exactly what my OH said. He says it is a lapwing snow except he used another word for lapwing, a doric word, I'm guessing.
Tuit or Tewit?
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Will post some time tomorrow - not feeling very good tonight!
Look after yourself, OG. Hope you will feel better tomorrow.
Thank you Diane for starting us off.
You gardners show me up getting what you can done now, I hate gardening and leave it up to OH to do the lawns (exercise for him). They desperately need doing. Weather not too bad down here although it did start off quite wet and I thought it would last all day but had cleared by lunch time and it was quite a pleasant afternoon.
Did my usual swim although pool was a bit crowded so didn't do as many lengths as I wanted to , maybe on Thursday? Stood in for our Chairlady today at our fortnightly Womens' meeting. Went well and speaker didn't go on too long either.
AQ - you made me chuckle with the news about your s-I-l getting your grand-daughter to eat her broccoli as it will help heal. Glad the ploy worked. You deserve your time off and enjoy your weekend road trip.
Heard about the meteor shower on the news.

OG: Take care of yourself.
Lynette: I'd spend all my time in the garden if I could (oh, wait, I do!). No lawn at our house though... Hope the pool empties out for your next swim.
Brenda: No word from Margo I gather....
Cooling trend here with - drum roll! - actual rain forecast for this weekend and late next week.
Have a good Wednesday everyone.
