HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Re the saga (! LINDY) I have Great Expectations that the shower will be fixed tomorrow, having had a call from the plumbing firm. Watch this space. Glad you had a nice lunch with your friend.
Margo is now bouncing back. I am sure she will be posting.
‘Evening, all. Well, I changed the weather; almost as soon as I posted, the fog rolled away, and within about two hours the frost also disappeared, and it was a lovely day, but very cold! OH went for a few messages, and J set off to Englandshire – he phoned when he arrived. We each completed our allocated tasks for the day, and even discussed buying some new clothes (unusual for us).
Mrs Sparrowhawk visited again, in the morning fog, but presumably the other birds couldn’t see her, as we had quite a good total for our weekly BTO count. One of the gulls dropped half an apple pie, which lasted the blackbirds quite a long time!
Diane – that is very warm for February; I think it is supposed to get wet here from tomorrow, so I guess we shall warm up too.
Brenda – I was lucky that, having completed my ironing, the clothes which came through the machines today were all to add to J’s ironing pile! Thanks for news that Margo is bouncing back this evening!
Heather – J’s eating differences tend to be just parts of a meal menu such as the veg, so I just put a third veg such as frozen peas or a carrot in the steam oven – we always have two veg anyway. He did complain about haggis being too peppery this week, when it was actually quite mild, so I left the pepper out of the cauliflower cheese the next day and put Dijon mustard in (which he says he doesn’t like) instead, and he ate that! I hope the shower is fixed tomorrow without shaking the moths out of the wallet!
Dibnlib – school children’s discarded chip dinners are a big problem here around town, as they encourage the gull to come swooping in, and they are equally noisy and messy! We try to avoid going into town near lunchtime, as the pavements are unusable and the behaviour intolerable – such as actually throwing food at each other and at shop windows. The lengthsman (that’s what we called him in Lancashire, don’t know the correct term here) odes his clean up after they are supposed to be back in school.
Linda – pleased you and Friend enjoyed a good outing for shopping and lunch – and natter!
Wendy – I don’t perceive the night sweats as hot flushes – but don’t know much about them as I didn’t have them before! Magic paste seems to be having a healing effect already, after just two days.
Now got to help OH try to find suitable summer weight trousers – has a problem with leg length.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG I feel doubly blessed then...
OG, That paste really is a miracle cure. I am genuinely pleased for you.
That's great news, OG - and if it's working already, it's sure to do the job. You must be pleased.
My OH liked his sweater when he tried it on- so now we're ready for the next Christmas!!
I keep forgetting to say that last week my Friend and I watched "Mr Holmes" which is a good film for fans of Ian McKellan.
In it, Sherlock Holmes is getting elderly, having retired some time before to live in the country, and has a hobby looking after his beehives. (My tablet just changed that to "herbivores.....!). He gets involved in returning to his last case and is busy solving that at the same time as helping the son of his housekeeper to understand the work of detection. The housekeeper is played excellently by Laura Linney. We enjoyed it, it is not like the modern fast rush around stuff, and we felt that it reminded us of t he film "Ladies in Lavender" which we also enjoyed.
Evening all: Busy day with Ms. D. The three of us went out for dinner and her Mom will drop her off tomorrow on her way to work so we can have breakfast together; then they'll both spend the next night or three here at the hotel.
Lindybird: Your poor OH. He must have felt quite discombobulated. There are some really tasty decaf coffees around. I wonder if your OH would notice the lack of caffeine if he didn't know what it was.
Brenda: Thanks for letting us know that Margo is feeling better.
Have read and enjoyed all news and chats but need to topple into bed soon - a busy day tomorrow.
Take care all.
Good Morning. Awoke early today, to find very frosty looking fields and a chill in the air.
Annette: Glad you're enjoying your time with family - we don't expect you to keep posting on here, go and have fun!
Diane: I see you havn't reported feeling any better, so assume you're battling on with things. Hope it doesn't last. {HUGS}
OG: Hope your skin continues to improve, and J has a good journey back.
Had an extra hour in bed this morning, and will be off towards Carlisle shopping in Asda this morning - got lunch table booked at ... guess where! BBL.
Good Morning Everyone. A very frosty morning here. Feels rather cold.
I have to take the car for it's annual service shortly and will then take the opportunity to look around John Lewis and M & S while they check the car.
Annette, Good to hear your news while you have a good time with Granddaughter and Miss D. Thank you for finding the time to post.
OG, Sounds good to do the shopping and then to enjoy a lovely lunch.
' See' you later today.
