Today's The Courier article says Within the last few days the last of the chicks have flown Balgavies after what reserve warden Jim Hughes admitted had been a wonderful breeding season, with enthusiasm for the species and the chance to enjoy the rare sight of four growing chicks bringing visitors from all over the country. All is well, despite the red Virgin hot air balloon's visitation over the nest.

Thank You Roberto for copying the Courier Article over to this thread, much appreciated. Thank You Sheila for posting it in the first place.
Its the end of another wonderful season at Balgavies, who would have believed that there would be a four chick nest here, and all would grow to four beautiful healthy Ospreys.
I wish them LOTS of Good Luck wherever they fly, sadly as all un-ringed we will never know their fate, but I would like to think the great start that Green BF has given them, with unending supplies of fish will stand them in good stead for their first migration.
A lasting memory of these gorgeous young ospreys. CLICK TO ENLARGE

I would like to thank Darren for all of these wonderful photographs he provides for us, and for giving me permission to post them here. We are truly blessed to have such brilliant photos from him.
Balgavies is a beautiful location with a lovely Osprey family, it should be on every Ospreyholics list of places to visit.
Looking forward to next season already :-)
Great shots indeed Mary and what a shame we will never be able to learn more of these chicks in years to come.
Birdies LG DU update.
Thank you again Mary, Mike and other contributors for having kept us posted on this beautiful nest over the whole season. Safe journey to birds and wish White UF and Green BF back in spring for a successful brood again, I will not miss a visit.
Thank you MARY and DARREN Wonderful photographs Why are the chicks not ringed?

I think it is because the tree is too dangerous to climb.
