HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's chat thread is here.
I saw R. T. Hawk on Thursday. It's been so cold here that I had to put the battery charger on my car for a long while. I went out as the sun was setting to remove it. R. T. screeched at me when I went out the front door. When I closed the car bonnet/hood, he screamed at me loudly and flew around his tree. I think he was telling me off for disturbing him when it was time to roost in his tree. He called more gently when I went indoors. :-)))
Everyone have a wonderful week. Roll on spring!!!

Morning, Everyone. Woken by the wind here, gusting somewhat. Supposed to get much warmer over the next few days.
Heather - I must apologise, but I meant to say how pleased I was to read that your itching has stopped. My head is leaking these days, I sit down to write on here and forget half of what I was going to say. I was wondering if it would fade away for you, but do hope that it won't return. Now I'm rambling.....I'd better go and get some breakfast!
I also need to say I was pleased about HEATHER's ex-itch departing, but sorry to read about middle daughter's distressing procedure - although it does seem to have clarified her diagnosis. Pleased also about improvement in LINDA's foot and ankle.
Wet here overnight, but drying up now and much warmer - unseasonably so again.
Spoke to both Daughters last night as I thought I should tell them about consultant's review. Well, actually, I talked to #2 (the easy one) and delegated #1 to OH, so he had to hear all about how busy she is and what a good report GDau#2 had from school!
Today lunch will be in Morrison's café when we do our Friday shop. Can thankfully get to Carlisle store from the relief road without having to go through the city.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hello everyone
A balmy 8.5 here this morning and another night without wanting to rip my skin off :-) I promise this won't be a daily skin bulletin!
The rash was helped by DIANES witch hazel but then I started getting super sensitive skin all over. Never had that before although the older I get the dryer the skin is. Night time was pure torture even with antihistamines. Don't know what helped but I threw our old goosedown duvet away and replaced it with a synthetic one (millions of dust mites had a sad and sorry end I think) Also using a commercial brand of skin moisturiser which seems to suit more than the prescription cream. No idea why. Better not to mention the name in case it contravenes the site rules.
Sorry to ramble on.
Be back later, I hope. A little shopping is required.

OH dear, I was trying to get rid of the quote since it wasn't my intention to include it. Now it is there twice. Apologies from me,:-((((
Sunshine here now!! Lovely. And as OG said, it's already much warmer.
OG - My ankle is much better, thanks, but I'm being ultra careful when turning corners or going up & down steps. Don't want to go back to square one. (Glad to say that my knee totally recovered from being wrenched).
Heather - I was prescribed some cream for around my eyes where the skin gets dry due to my eye problem. It was far too strong and did more harm than good. I now use good old fashioned Va*****e or else the one with a couple of numbers in the name!! I do find our chemist very good in recommending solutions to problems with medication. I have been taking daily Evening Primrose Oil for about about 20 years for my skin, and now also take Omega3 Oil as it's good for all sorts of things. They are both supposed to help with the dryness you get as you age. I have been complimented on how good my skin is, although I think that's partly inherited as my mother didn't get really wrinkly until into her 80's!! I think you've done the right thing by throwing out the duvet.
Not to worry, Heather. We don't mind double posts!
I hope OG is getting some of this sunshine as she is on her journey and hopefully, enjoying lunch. The News report looked grim for central USA today, with the storm getting nearer and a lot more snow on the way: hard for people to cope with such extremes. I do hope it literally blows over quickly.
We went to visit sis in law this morning and helped her eat up some of her Christmas biscuits. She is well and busy - only one dog there today but next week she will have four there for a few days! She says they all mill about and amuse each other, LOL!!
Latest on Bonnie is that she has been escaping from the garden again in spite of my OH's best efforts. We're going to have to put up yet more fencing as she escapes underneath the wire, however well it's fastened down.
LINDY My brother buried his wire fencing down deep - around his chicken coop and run. This is to keep Monsieur Reynard out, of course. I don't know how deep a spaniel will dig, though! But it works for hungry French foxes, apparently.
Good afternoon everybody I know I have been lurking again but have not been doing anything very interesting and the horrible weather means that I haven't been getting out much but have been going through a good number of library books. The library is only a short walk from my house so I wait till the rain goes off then walk there and back before the rain starts again. When the rain stopped this morning I went to the library and then down to M&S for some food shopping as I cook Monday to Friday then usually have M&S ready meals at the W/E which is a throw back to when I was still working
My SiL's brother's wife died several weeks ago but the funeral was two weeks after her death and as it was in Glasgow they hired a car to take them there and back which cost over two hundred pounds. I do not know whether it is because I am getting older but there does not seem to be a week goes past that I seem to hear about people I know dying so I am now looking on every day as a bonus.
I go next Friday to see the heart consultant so I will finally get to know what the results of all the test they did. I also have to go to my GP's to have an annual check up but I have to go without eating for twelve hours before the tests and only drink water to stop dehydration I think I will need a good breakfast when I come out. The restaurant that I like is having a demonstration evening which includes five courses for you to try so I have booked a place for same.
That is all my news at the moment and I hope that Margo and OG continue to get through their ordeals and that everybody manages to keep well and looking forward to the osprey season.

He's just gone out to the DIY shop to buy some new wooden fence panels & posts.......
Nice to have a long post from you, George. I'll have my fingers crossed for you next Friday, hope that it's good news with your test results and that they have finally decided what ails. Sorry you have to have a starving session, never easy. I go for blood tests with two digestive biccies in my pocket!!
Good that your library is so near. The short bit of exercise will do you good as well as enjoying the reading! Take Care of yourself.
