HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat Thread is here.

I posted a long list of replies at the end of last week's thread.

Saturday night in the U.S. and Sunday morning in the U.K. is the New Moon (the dark moon) -- the first one of 2016. See here for a list of monthly astronomical events for this year.

Wow, is it dreary here! So I'm inserting a colourful flower for this week's pic. :-) Everyone have a wonderful week.

  • You make me feel very fortunate to be so tall, Lindy.  I had the opposite problem for our wedding - I wanted to find a pair of sandals which were absolutely flat as I towered over Limpy (and still do!) even in my bare feet.  I did manage to find a really comfy pair which wore out long ago as they got a lot of wear in warm weather.  Even my wedding dress has had the occasional outing.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Diane - just watched some of The Andy Griffith Show!  We never had that here, I think. Loved the bit where he put the gun down the back of his pants, LOL!!

Lindy: It was a silly old show from the 1960s, but it's still much beloved here, and some of the networks still play the re-runs regularly.
  • No time for morning replies, but just wanted to let you know I slept really well going to bed at the usual time (which isn't late, because of J getting up for work) and woke up as if a normal day!  So I think just taking life slowly is the way to go, for me.

Thinking of MARGO and her transfusion today - hope I got the day right!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

Very pleased to hear this.  I hope it continues like this for you.

Margo, our thoughts are with you today, and always.

  • Claire (Mrs T) is celebrating her birthday today.  Many happy returns, Claire!

I'm indebted to Hazy for telling this to the rest of the Community - I can strongly recommend following this link and clicking on the picture.

  • Good Morning Everyone. A lovely sunny morning here, but it certainly feels colder.

Thank you for the link for Mrs T's Birthday, Clare. I have left my message on that page. The 'card' is certainly worth watching.

Hope all goes well today, Margo.

    Back later.

  • CLARE   I reversed it and came up with poocock which for some reason reminded me of my neighbour in Ayr. Her surname was Partridge. My Mum decided to send her a Christmas card one year, got a little confused and addressed it to Mrs Peacock. I did laugh.

  • Thanks f or the tip on Mrs Ts birthday, Clare - & for the link to the great card!

  • Ooer, Dibnlib!!

    Hope you have a good day, Margo. {More HUGS}

  • CLARE     I loved Ziggy Stardust. Also had the records of "Hunky Dory" and "Aladdin Sane"  they of course have long gone, and I never replaced them with CDs.
