Thread dedicated to Lake district Osprey Project
Spent over an hour at one of the other nests in Strathspey and Badenoch.
When we got there you could hardly see anyone on the nest. Then the female got up and was bending down, whether this was to roll the eggs or give chicks a breather I don't know, as it's certainly not a nest that you can see into very easily.
The male arrived with a big stick, but the female never moved, so he immediately left again, we waited for another twenty minutes but he didn't appear again, so not sure what to make of that. OH jokingly said maybe he brought it to the wrong nest. :-)
Forget the name of these wild flowers, they were where we stood to view the nest.

Lovely photos again, Mary. Good to know the nest is doing well.

Thank you ALAN
I visited Lochter today, unfortunately it was cold, windy and wet when we arrived and the webcam was covered in raindrops, however after a very nice lunch, it had dried up enough to see the birds on the screen in the restaurant.
One of the waitresses told us there were two chicks, but I could only see one when a fish was delivered and a feed took place.
Some photos taken from the screen and one from outside but we didnt stay out for long as the wind would have cut you in half.
Mary thanks for the pics from your nest visits, glad you got to Lochter.
I'll have a guess that the wild flowers are Harebells (maybe not)

For some reason when I 'like' recent news posts it comes up with an error report. But please be assured I do indeed like the reports.
