LOOKING FORWARD TO 2016 BRINGING US A FULL NEST AT LOCH GARTEN WITH EJ AND ODIN AT THE HELM.
Good evening all. Love the doves Keith! I have seen adult rooksin the field next door feeding each other and food begging! I thought they were young but too early! We are having a minor cold spell nothing compared to those in Scotland, but a small amount of snow forecast tomorrow! Just a dusting! It should bring in many birds.
Heres one of the marsh tits that have been grabbing and storing seeds in the buddlea tree! Ive seen him stuffing seeds away in cracks in the bush, maybe frightened of a famine
Lovely photos, K & W. comp back on slow makes communication difficult.
Belated greetings

COUNTDOWN FOR LOCH GARTEN NEST
41 days till EJ'S RETURN on Monday March 28th
47 days till ODIN'S RETURN on Sunday April 3rd
We all know that any countdown is just a guess, no matter how careful the calculation or formula. The actual dates of return for Odin and EJ as recorded by "ChloeB and Tiger's osprey data" are HERE. www.imagicat.com/profiles.html
Of course many osprey were late returning from Africa last year because of bad weather throughout almost all the route. I think there were sand storms in Africa and heavy rain in Spain and France. With luck they will be earlier than the guesstimates!

I think I accounted for that (not sure). Always happy to see them early. :) Ends the stress of waiting. :(
good afternoon all. Not long to wait now and how quickly the year has gone! I really hope they all have safe journeys back. Always interesting to see who will return amomg the 2 year olds especially white 14 and also Kielders UV. Hope that there will be no more disturbances at Strathallen again this year, but bI think Keith sauid the nest had been conveniently damaged by storms :( Please correct me if Im wrong!
I think Keith mentioned that a local nest had not been damaged yet, but that it might yet be conveniently damaged.
