Hallo all:
OG: Wow! That was fast! You'll be back home by the end of the week at this rate!
Heather: When you're done in the operating room, you'll find me in the cafeteria with a coffee and my crossword. :-)
Ha ha ANNETTE!
No pressure, EAGLE EYE(!) but a little word or fifteen to tell us how OG is faring after surgery would be very welcome xx but know that we come bottom of the list! Love to you both.
My OH nearly got the sack today. From me. I was turning the mattress when it all went wrong and slipped out of my grip. Mattress fell sideways, TV knocked onto floor and my wrist was twisted. When he returned home from his Probus meeting I told him what had happened. I think he was more worried about the TV....... We are still friends as I haven't yet lost my sense of humour. At times though, it hangs by a very thin thread ;-))
Heather: I suspect turning the mattress by yourself was a more appealing prospect than waiting for your OH to come home and "help," which is often the case in our house (not that my OH is a procrastinator or anything.....). :-)
You're right, ANNETTE. But I always did these things by myself. I'm too young to need assistance, for goodness sakes!
At the end of the cruise now, at Avignon. Had a walking tour this am (in the rain) and visit to the Palace of the Popes. A lot of steps, hopefully using up some of those extra calories I am consuming because I am not doing the cooking.
Have two insect bites with large reaction. No Marmite available here.
OG Wishing you well for Thursday. Hope everything goes smoothly for you, and you can be back home soon. (and the shower room does not have to be delayed too long)!
Heather and Annette, I did laugh at the mattress episode. I definitely 'get' the situation. Sounds familiar.
Rosy: Did you notice anyone dancing on the Pont in Avignon? Palace of the Popes should be interesting. I suspect if you took Marmite to France they'd stick you in the Bastille for your troubles. Sorry about the bites; a bit late now, but a newish non-Deet-smelly product with Picaridin in it helps.
Heather/Rosy: I have always done those kinds of things myself; in fact, sometimes I save them for when OH is otherwise occupied or he's likely to spend a day creating a flow-chart for the task at hand.
ANNETTE/ROSY - had to think for a minute before I remembered the song which of course, we sang at primary school xx
Hi! Thanks for all kind thoughts – and I shall think of you all there with me on Thursday – maybe Annette drinking coffee can look after OH instead!
Good progress in the shower room today, but poor programing by the office and some wrong deliveries mean further muddles ahead. Due to willingness and forethought of the actual workers, it is possible we may have a working loo and washbasin by tomorrow evening, which will help enormously. Of course, any delays from now on the company will be blaming on me not being available later this week! Going to leave carpenter here working tomorrow while we get some urgent shopping from Asda – seems I could get lunch out at the Old Toll Bar on the way!
Heather – I hope the wrist is not too sore – take care.
Rosy – will you be flying home from Avignon? Foggy airports should be clearer now, I believe, with rain on the way.
Have had to wash my dressing gown for hospital, but it doesn’t tumble, and struggled to find a hanging place with not using bigger shower room, so hoping it will be dry in time!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG, I told Linda about your op on Thursday. She has asked me to pass on her Best Wishes to you.
I was so pleased to see that your operation is going ahead so quickly, OG. We will both be thinking of you and you will be included in our prayers. Best wishes to EE also.
