WEEKLY CHAT, SUNDAY NOVEMBER 1 2015

Hallo all:

  • So sorry to hear about it, Clare:  Its often these minor mistakes which could be avoided, which are  the most upsetting part when you are trying to sort out funerals and your loved one's affairs, whilst still not feeling yourself.  I do hope that things can be sorted out and that Limpy gets an apology of some kind.

Hope that Helen has had time to spend with her horse friends whilst on half term.

  • Just catching up with everyones news.

Very sorry, Clare. Not a good time for you and your family.

The first thing I saw this morning was five cygnets floating past the window. Brilliant. We are cruising at the moment down to Viviers. We have just passed another fifteen swans.

Visited an organic vineyard this morning, and sampled three wines. Very nice too, but only available in restaurants, apparently.

Also visited a Valrhona chocolate outlet. Suitable samples obtained!

Most of the guests are Americans. There are several who have come in groups. They are from all over the US. We ate lunch on the last  two days with a couple from New Hampshire.

  • Sounds as if you're having a lovely relaxing time, Rosy. I am jealous when you mention chocolate samples!  We found the time this morning to pop to a local street fair where a lot of food was on offer, and I bought a samosa for lunch. We also met the man who was responsible for my OH and I meeting, over 45 years ago! We havn't seen him for a few years so did some catching up with him & his wife.

Now I'm trying to stuff things in the cases, and dust the bookcases with the other hand!  Also, counting shoes, Annette!  (2 pairs sandals, 1 pair evening shoes, 1 pair beach shoes, 1 comfy walking shoes f or me......!)

  • Lindybird: I understand comfy walking shoes and sandals, but what are evening shoes?  :-))   When are you leaving (and coming back)?

Rosy: River cruises in Europe are being sold big time here, maybe because there are so many people of a certain age who don't feel like lugging suitcases on and off trains, planes, etc. and in and out of hotels every two nights.

Got out before the sun this morning and managed to sort out some of the questionable irrigation in the garden, although I also managed my usual trick of slicing through one of the buried hoses while digging out a dead teucrium. Nothing like creating more work for yourself!

Off to stretch class at the gym.

  • Glad you enjoyed your new yoga class, Annette. We go very early tomorrow, for ten days.  My sis-in-law said there were quite a few from USA on her Rhine cruise recently.

  • Have a good time, LINDA and OH!

Will have to post other replies tomorrow as the day has disappeared among Chr. cards!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Hello,all

ANNETTE So hope that you will get more comfortable weather, soon.

LINDY - You had a great time with the family but understandably tired after your journeys. I see that you will all be together at Christmas :-)

OG- Sorry, I do realise that you know the reasons for faith questions when admitted to hospital. I'm afraid that I didn't read your post correctly...and replied automatically from my nurse head!

CLARE- Understandable that LIMPY gave the wrong day to the authorities at such an emotional time xx

OH and I have had a quiet day. We will go away on holiday. My youngest is struggling but she has told us that we must go. She will feel dreadful if we don't. ANNETTE- she doesn't drive but has good friends who will do the school run for her, if needed. She can get her food shopping delivered via online order.

My 70th this month and children are taking us out for a meal next weekend. I have chosen my favourite curry house. It really isn't OH's favourite but he will come with us:-)) Only absentee will be my son who does not live in Scotland. He will be here for Christmas though!!

Last night was enjoyable. We had a few groups of small children (parents at the gate) and then of course the grandchildren who looked suitably ghoulish. After they left, we switched the lights off and went to bed!

I forgot to thank DIANE for starting us off.

ROSY sounds as if she is having a great holiday!

    Thinking of MARGO and everyone-

  • PS LINDY - did not realise you leave tomorrow. Have a great time!

  • A very foggy morning and grey sky for the rest of the day. Already foggy again now.

What good timing to get away from the November fog, Linda. Have a lovely holiday.

I need to go back and read all your posts today.

    Watching Strictly

  • I just enjoyed Strictly - a welcome sit down as it's been yet another busy day. Thanks for all your good wishes. Must g o!  Take care of yourselves!
