HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
The Full Moon is Tuesday. It's the last of three consecutive perigee full moons (so-called "supermoons"). However, its appearance will be more subtle due to a Minor Lunar Standstill.
We are well into autumn here in Indiana. The winds are gusting today, and the brightly colored leaves are falling. The Texas storm front is flowing into the Midwest, and the remnants of Hurricane Patricia will be over my patch on Tuesday and Wednesday. Not good news for my leaky roof.
I've just been bitten hard on the ankle by a spider, who has painfully reminded me that I really need to clean my house!
Many white-tailed deer have been grazing around my yard this past week, and I've spent a lot of time just watching them. If I stand still and stay quiet, I can view them from the doors and the windows and they aren't bothered by my presence. They're so beautiful; they nourish my soul.
Everyone have a great week and enjoy the moon!
Best wishes to OG and EE. I hope they've had safe travels and OG's treatment regimen will be effective and as easy as possible on her body. Thinking of you, Margo.

Good that work is progressing, OG. Hope it all goes well. As you say, there are always some wrong parts or delays, but it all gets done in the end. You shame me as my Christmas card design is in my head but not yet made into cards - for two years now most people have received bought cards from us.
Rita: My sis-in-law is having Bonnie for us: she doesn't have a dog herself as she likes to be free to go away unencumbered, but she loves dogs and often has other people's for a while. Its nice for us as we don't have to use the kennels.
Annette: My eye prob. has been ongoing now for about three months. It sorts itself out and then flares up again. I havn't been wearing makeup except for mascara on special occasions for ages now. Now we seem to finally have resolved it into two separate afflictions: I have dry eyes anyway, and now I have this Blepharitis, that can flare up but is manageable with hot compresses and eye drops. The skin around my eyes has got really inflamed - on bad days I can't really go out as I look as if I've been in a fire or something. The Doc has given me an antibiotic cream which may knock this on the head if it's a skin infection. Fingers crossed!
More Flower Show - nearly at the end, now: The ferris wheel was full of flowers inbetween the passengers, again:
This was the bandstand this year: as you can see, it rained towards lunchtime when a lot of folks were hoping to sit down & eat whilst listening to the various kinds of music played live.
This is a pretty exhibit:
A rather striking one: I attach two different views of this one
More: I loved this one, so pretty, clever and striking:
And this......... hang on, this ones been done! must go back and check on my files.....
When we had our first Goldie we had friends or relatives to look after him. Then we moved to Shetland and didn't know anyone well enough to ask them to look after a 131/2 goldie. The youngster who we took up to Shetland at just 14 weeks was fine in kennels, but we were not going to put our old boy in so we didn't leave the Island together till he was put to sleep a year later. anyway lucky you LINDY and it does sound as if you are doing your SiL a favour as well.
ANNETTE the boxes are going to Albania. It is for them to open at Christmas. It is incredibly humbling to know that on Christmas Day they will be delighted to find toothpaste and soap. The things we regard as every day items. There were of course other things in the boxes, they all had hats, gloves, and scarfs and toys for the youngsters. Each box was labelled who the box was aimed at. It was organised by Blythswood so I imagine a lot of churches are doing the same.
Good Morning Everyone. The rain hasn't reached here yet, but the fallen leaves are swirling around the garden. OH had cleared all the leaves, but when he drew the curtains this morning, he exclaimed, " Where have all those leaves come from !! " The garden bin will be emptied shortly, but he hasn't a hope of catching any more leaves this morning. LOL
I have bought my Christmas cards. I decided that I am not making any this year. I used to make quite a lot for family / close friends and for a charity Christmas Fair, which always sold well, but when I costed what I had spent on making them and buying suitable envelopes, I was selling them at a loss. It was better for the charity to receive the gross money direct from me and less work for me.
Diane, Just keep posting about all things celestial, or you will definitely be in trouble LOL. You didn't mention how your roof behaved during Patricia's rain when it passed through.
OG, You do seem to be coping very well with three workmen in the house. I can imagine the noise and dust they must be creating. Have they got the radio playing as they work ? I guess you have to keep plenty of water for tea /coffee.
Linda, Love your photographs. It always amuses me how the British will even sit in the rain to listen to the band.
Linda, Were you told to throw away your mascara, as it will be harbouring the blepharitis infection, which lives on your eyelashes. I am sorry you are still suffering. When my OH had blepharitis, I was told to cleanse his lashes with warm water. He was also told to use eye wipes, but I found that they were too harsh around his eye. Eye creams etc can be the basic cause of blepharitis. Hope the AB's work for you.

Brenda: Patricia re-formed into a solid storm 1,200 miles across that rotated just like a hurricane over the Midwest and East for 2 days, dumping quite a bit of rain here. My roof leaked in the bathroom and spare bedroom. I need a new roof, but I can't afford it right now. It's beyond patching. :-(
Diane: Wish I could send you something, even a bucket! - sorry to be light hearted about it, it must be a real worry to you. Hope all your wild neighbours and creatures survived the storms OK.
dibnlib: Well done on the boxes. We did a shoebox thing for a few years, with small items for children in them. Even a coloured pencil was a treasure.
Brenda: Nothing said about re-infection. The Optician I saw said that once you have it, you always have it! Although it might 'come & go'. Must throw away some of my old makeup anyway, its funny but you get it out of the drawer without thinking that some of it can be years old, and its not good for your skin etc. I feel better today ~ hoping that the cream given is already working......
More pics - I keep popping back here to do some!
This was just a stand selling greenhouses, but they had a colourful planting around them>
More pretty exhibits:
~~ That's the last of the flowers, but a couple more to come of something I was taken with when we were just leaving.
Right, I'm back again.... This was a sales exhibit and was just entrancing. They are garden sculptures and cost thousands of pounds each, otherwise I would've taken one home with me, LOL!!
First: Alice in Wonderland:
Behind her on a small plinth you can just see a small sculpture of Toad of Toad Hall, in his famous motor car. Also behind her, was Peter Pan:
This was an elf, but for the life of me I can't remember who! (old age.....)
They were so well done, and attracted a lot of attention from the crowds. That's the end of it for this year at least!
