No Odin yesterday, we are waiting to hear something from the Centre.
The nest - who cares if it's glary or matte tonight? ;-)
IMAGICAT
Windy!
Good Morning Scylla
Thank you for starting off what will probably sadly be the last DU of the season. I have a feeling Odin left on Friday after his afternoon photoshoot, when Moffer last captured him @ 21 August 3.06 pm.
It was not the season we had hoped for but it didn't turn out to be the disaster we thought it would be, because of the roaming camera we got to see a lot more EJ and Odin and their behaviors, and probably have had the most wonderful captures of them ever! May they both have a safe migration and come back to us next year again and hopefully have healthy chicks.
A special thanks to you Scylla for your season of nights shifts, I always feel you are an extension of the LG volunteer system, while they do one and two weeks at LG, you do a full season of night shifts just so that when we come on in the morning we have an idea of the night time activities.
Also to Moffer who has been the back bone of the DU this season, every day throughout the day she has diligently kept us updated with every happening, and to all the other Daily Updater's too numerous to mention.
There is always a feeling of sadness at the end of every season, but it won't be long until those Count Down Clocks are readily counting down the days until we see the legends EJ and Odin again.

Wind is not as bad now.

This was our last sighting - I chose the clearest "nearly whole Odin" one for yesterday's DU intro:
Apparently, our pseudo-skydancer is a buzzard (CIRRUS reminded me!). That would make sense, as we had a shocking report of EJ being chased by a buzzard :o
Nice loud mini-marauder sounds on the nest, birds seen on 'n off.
Good Morning SCYLLA and MARY Lovely tribute MARY and thanks for the last pics SCYLLA If you are gone Odin....stay safe and see you next season

Just one on the nest, I think:
Good Morning Scylla, Mary and Patily. Thanks for starting the day and the early posts Scylla.
I was just about to start it myself when I saw your link appear.
Will today be our last DU?

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
