HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat thread is HERE.

I missed a few days last week. I've read all your posts, but I won't try to reply except to wish everyone well.

Some large animal has been hunting on my deck before dawn (about 5:00 am). It lands on the deck with a big thud. It's either jumping down from the tree limb over the deck or jumping up from the top step. I can hear it chase fairly large prey (probably raccoons). If it's coming out of the tree, it could be a bobcat! I have deer staying in my backyard along the creek, and a pair of bobcats could have moved in to predate the fawns. I've read that bobcat numbers are increasing a lot in this region. I'm not afraid of them; they aren't a threat to me. I hope I get to see whatever it is!

I happened across the webpages of a couple of photographers whose work just makes me happy when I look through their galleries, so I thought I'd share their sites.

The first photographer is Michael Shainblum, who photographs gorgeous landscapes and seascapes (especially with the Milky Way in the background). Here's his website (click on "Photography") and his Facebook page.

The second is George Karbus, who lives and works on the west coast of Ireland (but also takes photos all over the world). He focuses on coastal and marine photography. Here's his website (click on "Gallery") and his Facebook page.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

  • Good Afternoon. Raining again. Yesterday was extremely bad.

Just had a talk with Margo. She has the workmen coming on Thursday to find the leak in her hall.

AQ. So glad you managed your trip without too much pain. Don't lift the twins :-))

Heather, Good to see your post. Family must always come first. {{ Hugs }} Hope your middle daughter now recovers.
I enjoy seeing photographs from my children as they travel around, but we now use " WhatsApp".

Lynette, Pleased to read that you enjoyed your WA and OH's Birthday.

Annette, We have a collection of old records, but I don't see my OH parting with them, especially his classical collection.

  • Brenda:  Thanks for letting us know Margo's news.  I do hope they can fix things asap.

A bit dull here again today, and a sneaky wind is creeping in.  It seemed to go dark here early last night, but it might have been just the heavy cloud cover :-(

I'm trying to get lots of little things done, but as usual get distracted easily:  not helped by Bonnie, who brought in some more sticks from the garden to eat upon the carpet, and she then stole some of my soggy tissues but thankfully, ate those on the lawn!!    My OH has just returned home, and is picking ripe plums off our tree - Bonnie seems to like them so I don't know how they will upset her digestion, LOL!!

  • Hello all

I envy you, LINDY, picking plums. We will have to wait a while. The Victorias are scarcer this year but will be large :-) and the greengages - well, there are loads. I hope that Bonnie can digest the plums. We also have a lot of pears but as I say, nothing ready yet.

BRENDA - Thank you for letting us know Margo's news. I have my fingers crossed that she and OH managed to get to the show on Saturday.

It is quite cool here today and neither of us feel like gardening. I will go and see Sheana later this afternoon.

OH is keeping a close eye on the stock market since that is what we mostly rely on for our top up income - dividends. Things are not looking good due to China problems but there is not a lot we can do about it LOL

Lynette - Fish and chips and a bottle of wine - what more can one ask for! I love both of these things.

Hope everyone is as OK as possible -

  • Hello all. I tried logging in this morning as like you Lindy I seemed to keep getting signed out?

Heather sorry to hear about your poorly family  members. Hopefully the tests and checks will provide answers.

Clare are you volunteering or day tripping.

Lindy I notice that Bonnie likes plums. These and peaches are great for dogs as are rasps and strawbs but the stone is highly toxic so make sure you are removing that first. Tapaidh loves fruit and even chomped happily through a runaway piece of turnip last night.

I was going to post a beautiful scene from my walk to work with Tapaidh this morning - the sun shining beautifully with Arthur s Seat in the background but phone will not allow me to accomplish that maneuver today - will try when I get home.

  • Hi, Lmac - I'm rather dismayed to read that plum stones are not a good thing for dogs, as she does/has chewed on them. Hopefully none of it has gone down. She chewed on some of last years stones a long time ago, as they are all around our plum tree from previous crops, and there's no way of fencing it off. As Brenda says, what a beautiful pic of a lovely scene. By the way, Clare is volunteering at Minsmere and Limpy is, too, he's been enjoying it for a while.

Hi Lmac Clare is volunteering today.

Hi to all of you on the Weekly Chat I hope you are all doing well

I do know some one on here will like these.

  • Lindy I think what you read in books and reality are entirely different. Tapaidh eats happily our rhododendrons and they are supposed to be highly toxic. OH laughs at me as he is used to working dogs on a Croft who eat all sorts of things and all survived just fine.

  • Dr Brian May on Newnight tonight

"THANK YOU for the amazing messages in support of our legal challenge. We will be on BBC Newsnight tonight from 10.35. Keep the faith Bri, Anne and the @saveme team ‪#‎failingbadgercull‬"
