Looks like they've got us in training for the end of the season.
IMAGICAT
Good morning, Nannascot. That's a lovely thought!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
When Moffer posted this last night, I thought "No! I'm not ready" - we usually have the staged departures of EJ, then the chicks (at varying rates) followed by Odin and his crossed twigs. It gives you time to adjust...
I'm feeling sad that I only managed to see 1 Swift flying over last night and not a single sound from the nests on the street near me where they nest :-(
My thanks to everyone who have been so vigilent with the captures of our lovely couple - maybe next year I'll have sorted out my broadband so I'm not buffering or dropped out most of the time!
Tiger and Chloe's Osprey Info
Hi, Birdsong! We've just had a lovely great tit on the nest.
Definitely something making knocking sounds on the nest
Hi Clare - that accounts for the sounds!
Edit: Just saw it whip through at the bottom of the pic - so that branch DID move!
Very blurred Great Tit

I feel sad too :( and I'm not ready, but after all they've been through this year, it's great to know that they are in very good condition for migration.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
I was eating Kettle Chips so had greasy, salty fingers and could only watch. Here are two from the bottom of the nest as we look at it treated!
We also had a Chaffinch
Sputtering on sound - I don't think that's bird-related.
