Aww how sweet!
Birdie's DU Summaries 2018 https://www.imagicat.com/
Thankyou Limpy! Ilove swallows they are my all time favourite birds! I have seen adults feeding their young in mid flight! Smashing photo!
June love your train photo! Keith hope you will enjoy your railtrip in the Tweed Valley. These Steam rail journeys are becoming very popular and there are quite a few around which is great news for the preservation of these beautiful engines (stations and general memorabilia)
We occasionally have steam charter trains during the summer months always makes a pleasant change from the usual modern electric trains! These journeys on the charter are hideously expensive but comes with a very good meal with wine and all the luxury! Never been on one but OH went on his long service award!

as getting a little scared just nowas there was a lot of thumping and banging outside! I dared to take a sly peek and discovered badgers knocking bricks and rocks about! What a reief!!
I read that Glesni has departed:( Wish her a safe journey and look forward to her return next year! She has been a fantastic mother and reared three beauties this year. Monty also a brilliant Dad and provider.
A butterfly this afternoon lots about today!
Sorry Limpy Imissed your post saying that Glesni is still here! That's good :) I think it wont be long now
Blue 12 (Glesni) had just been absent and not sighted for 48 hours so some thought she had departed before making a re-appearance yesterday.
Many female ospreys go on a wander for a few days around the local area before leaving so it can not be assumed they migrate from the time they were last sighted.
Willow - My Buddleia is now out in large spikes but for some reason is lacking the Butterfly. Not sure if numbers of caterpillars and butterflys are down with the poor summer in Scotland.
I wait for the ELUSIVE BUTTERFLY to land on the Buddleia (I palnted it for that reason).
THE ELUSIVE BUTTERFLY
As well as the missing Butterfly - I lost an entire colony of my first bees. I had the hive at the end of last year but the colony was only put in at the end of May by a professional beekeeper. By July there were no bees. The beekeeper association representative for our area came round and said they had died due to lack of pollen collection not being able to get around in the very wet poor summer - he said many hives have had to be fed in the early part of the summer. I waited until May so would not have to feed them until winter. I have many bees in the garden now especially on the lavender but where they are from I do not know.
Its a first year learning curve but will try again next year and can attend more training sessions in the winter - Its just the bees I was concerned about the hive and I survive for another try.
