WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, JULY 26, 2015

Hallo All:

Brenda: Sorry your celebration got postponed; hope your OH is doing better.

Heather: So, did the BBQ go ahead? Hope so.

Spent ages spreading mulch around the front garden this morning. Got totally filthy. Also was bent over under the olive trees much of the time. Rewarded myself with a very long rest in my chair in the garden; book and nap included.  Will probably topple into bed early tonight.

Here's to a good week.  Hope Margo had a fab time with her OH.

  • Morning all:

OG: Yes, I did notice the press presence in that video. But don't think the UK press has a monopoly on creating news - witness our media's current love affair with the ridiculous Donald Trump.  Thanks for the info re Diane's computer - I'd sent her an e-mail and thought perhaps she'd extended the dog-sitting trip.

Brenda: Re that little boy, I had the same reaction. Makes you wonder....

George: Another two scans? Wonder how long they'll be with those results. And they're communicating by snail mail? Perhaps you can arrange a few days off somewhere anyway?  Still, apparently nothing obvious is going on, so enjoy your new computer. I think we're going to hold off on Windows 10 until they've worked out all the inevitable bugs.

    Hallo Lynette!

    Off to start the day.

  • Ospreys are what brought us together. When you have a moment, this is worth a read. I think you should recognise some of the symptoms. LOL

  • Truly ‘orrible day here – even had to put the heating on during the afternoon! All feeling terribly lethargic with no sunshine to cheer us!

Brenda – sorry about your OH’s chest infection – I hope the ABs soon do the trick. Agree with your comments about the seven year old; not a direct comment on this case, but I actually think there are sadly some child safety issues where possible negligence should be confronted. Thanks for the “Ospreyitis” link.

George – sorry you still have no definitive diagnosis of any condition which may or may not be affecting you! I hope they get on with the two new scans very soon. I hope all goes smoothly with the new PC and then the installation of Windows 10. We have signed up for it, but I shall probably suggest that OH does his first to test the system! This weather is so depressing, isn’t it? I hate being stuck indoors in the middle of summer, when we should be outside for the good of our health.

Lynette – I am sure the children won’t notice the weather during their Holiday Week – but their parents will be glad not to have them at home on the wet days!

Annette – I was worried that something might have happened to Diane in the city, so was relieved to see the message from her brother. I hope she can fix the problem soon.

Coffee has appeared at my elbow – seems like a good idea!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • George, Sorry you still have to wait for a further two scans. I do hope it is all arranged asap.
Congratulations on your new computer and wi-fi printer.
Good luck with Windows 10. It will be interesting to know what you think. I have an Apple so don't have to worry about Windows. If I did I would do what OG says, and let my husband try it first LOL

OG, You must have felt cold to have to put the heating on. I have worn a jumper today ! It is also so windy here. Thanks for thinking of my OH. Hoping the AB's will work.

  • Brenda; That link is a hoot. :-)

  • Just a quickie from me to acknowledge all your posts and news (including info about Diane's computer. Hope that both DIANE and LINDY get back online soon).

I have youngest daughter and her two daughters staying here for a couple of nights. Today has been busy, have just tumbled into bed. It is a cold night here and I think that our heating will be going on in the morning if things don't improve.

Great!  I can officially blame EJ the Beautiful for my expanding waistline and backside.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning Everyone. Dry but windy here. I did feel the lower temperature, when I got out of the shower this morning, so I do understand why OG and Heather need the heating turned on. You both have lower temperatures than here and you still have the rain. I Wonder how Rita is coping.

Heather, Hope you have plans for the family in the rain and cold :-(( I agree with OG, I hate being confined to the house, especially in the summer.

Just been talking to my son. They are having a thunderstorm at the moment and Penny  ( their dog ) has decided she doesn't like storms in Singapore. She now heads for a hall cupboard, where she stays until the storm has passed. She was never bothered in London, but maybe she doesn't like living on the 19th floor. They are still looking for a permanent place to live.

  • LOL Clare.  I noticed that Limpy was posting very early this morning. I guess that means he has gone to Minsmere today. Are you booked for this Thursday again ?

Hi, Brenda!  Yes, he's at Minsmere today.  I'm going on Thursday - not to do reception but to try to help in a work party.  They have a work party once a month to do various jobs around the reserve - it will be nice to meet more people and get stuck in to something practical.  I'm next on reception on August 20th.
