Hallo All:
Brenda: Sorry your celebration got postponed; hope your OH is doing better.
Heather: So, did the BBQ go ahead? Hope so.
Spent ages spreading mulch around the front garden this morning. Got totally filthy. Also was bent over under the olive trees much of the time. Rewarded myself with a very long rest in my chair in the garden; book and nap included. Will probably topple into bed early tonight.
Here's to a good week. Hope Margo had a fab time with her OH.
Hello everyone
RITA- so glad to see that you are home and back in charge of the garden! Enjoy the family visiting you. What a lovely tooth fairy xx to make such a long journey to the Highlands!
BRENDA - thanks for letting us know about LINDYs internet. Also, sorry that you missed your event due to the building etc.It must have been somewhat amusing though, to get a bouquet in that unusual way!
ANNETTE- Thanks as ever, for starting us off. You painted a good picture of crawling under trees and then collapsing in the garden chair. And still no rain....
Our barbecue at eldest daughter's house was fine. We cooked outside and for the most part, ate outside, although the rain chased us in for about 45 minutes. OH and I came home at 7pm and didn't eat anything until this morning! After the chicken, home made burgers, sausages and lamb kebabs we were served strawberries, meringue, raspberries, cream, icecream and then a cheeseboard with lovely breads. Also home made birthday cake. Wine of any colour we fancied, soft drinks and coffee. As OH said, 'Oh boy!'.
I hope that MARGO enjoyed her holiday with her OH xx
Just a PS- Some of you will remember little Alisa who had a bone marrow transplant. I heard yesterday that she is doing really really well.
Thanks to Annette for starting the week again. All your work sounds very tiring. I am not surprised that you needed to rest and have a nap. I can feel your aching back.
Clare, What a fantastic day for Limpy. One lucky fellow seeing an osprey at Minsmere.
Rita, I expected you to stay longer down south, but good to see that your other son is now staying with you, with your lovely granddaughters. I am sure they will all keep you under control. LOL Take care of yourself.
Heather, I am so pleased to hear that the BBQ was such a success, with so much delicious food to eat.Thank you for letting us know about Alisa. That is really good news.
I am trying to keep Linda up to date with your news.
Rita: Welcome home. What a nice supportive family you have - good kids! Had to smile about the Scottish tooth fairy. :-)
Heather: Oh wonderful that Alisa is doing so well - how long ago was that? Gosh, that sounds like a wonderful feast.
Brenda: Oddly enough, no aches and pains after yesterday's marathon mulch-laying event Today, went to birthday brunch under lovely (California) oak trees in a local park for our yoga teacher, who turned 60. A lovely (healthful!) spread with champagne, OJ, etc. Got to chat to other yoga class members that I usually see only in passing.
Anyway, have a good Monday everyone.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Good morning – going to be a dreich week, apparently. Yesterday was drier than expected, and we enjoyed our tea at Waterbeck and also went to evening service. Nothing much going on today – OH is shopping, and J has gone down to the High Street – probably for a café breakfast.
If anyone is wondering about Diane, her brother reported on FB that she has computer issues.
Annette – thanks for starting the new thread after a busy gardening day. The population of Dumfries is approximately 32k, but the newspaper interviewed someone from South Lanarkshire, so not a local! If you look at the video evidence, at least half those surrounding the car were photographers, and a larger number of the “crowd” were “gongoozlers” – bystanders just wondering what was going on. We in the UK are used to the press trying to invent “news”; I remember them on our uni campus during the “student riots” in 1968!
Clare – wonderful for Limpy to see the Osprey at MInsmere!
Brenda – sorry about Linda’s connection problem – thanks for telling us; good of you to pass on any newsworthy items! I hope your OH is feeling better now, and that you can get out and about without roadworks.
Rita – that is very soon after the op to travel all that way home; I hope you don’t suffer any ill-effects. Pleased to see your other Son and family will be with you a few weeks. Enjoy the time with them – and maybe they can tidy your garden while they are there? Pleased the Scottish Tooth-fairy found your granddaughter at your house!
Heather – pleased Katie’s party went well, and not too much rain. I think I know who ate all the cheeses! Good news about wee Alisa!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good Morning. A cold, windy morning. So good that the rain has finally stopped, but I know that is not the case for everyone.
We had a long standing arrangement to meet friends for lunch yesterday. It was not the best idea for OH, but he said we couldn't cancel. He saw his GP this morning and is now taking antibiotics for a chest infection. He does have inhalers for asthma anyhow, so I was annoyed when he wouldn't see the GP last week.
Annette, Sounds a lovely place to enjoy a birthday brunch and mix with 'lesser known' class members. A brunch here, as you will know, often means a full English breakfast. ( unhealthy, but enjoyable if not eaten too often. LOL )
Such sad news that the seven year old boy from Barnsley has been found dead on a construction site. I have to ask why a seven year old was playing in a park, without any adults being present, and was returning home on his own at 8pm. Police haven't said whether he had an accident, or otherwise, yet.
OG, Thanks for the news of Diane. She really will be unhappy, not having her computer.
I did notice what you say about the Dumfries video. We never read that newspaper, anyhow. He wouldn't be an MP, if Scottish people hadn't voted for him, so he obviously has many supporters.
Afternoon all thing are a bit driech here and have been for a good few days. Got a letter from my consultant on Saturday to say that he had discussed things with his compatriot and they have decided that they will have to get another two scans done before they reach a decision.
AS I am not having a proper holiday this year because of the doctors not coming to a conclusion and I do not know when the scans will be I have treated myself to a new PC set up with a stand alone unit and a wireless printer so at the moment am at the experimental stage and then Windows 10 is coming along in a few days so we will have to wait and see what happens.
It is good to se that Alisa is doing well and that the BBQ went well. I hope Diane has had a good week with her OH and I hope that Rita doesn't try to do too much in her garden.
Hope all keep well and don't buckle under with the weather as is forecast for this week

Rita - lovely to see you are now back home and are being looked after. The pain will gradually ease although there might well be some tenderness for a time but it does get easier. Keep up the exercises whilst still going to physio. You'll soon be dancing a reel!!!!! I tried that on Burn's Night and was exhausted after it.
HeatherB - that's great news about Ailsa. Glad the birthday BBQ went well, you dined like kings and queens.
Clare - so pleased Limpy saw an osprey, maybe they are thinking of setting up home down there next season?

George - do hope you get to know soon when your scans will be and that a decision will be pretty quickly after that.
Glad to hear that you have got yourself a new PC and are getting used to it. I should do that myself as I am using my OH's old one which is on windows xp which of course is unsupported - therefore I tend to use Google Chrome more. One day maybe when I can save enough money up!!
OG - I think we are all going to get dreich weather this week. Kids Holiday Week started for us this week and usually they have a great one but I don't think it will be this time.
Hello to Annette, Brenda, Lindybird, and everyone not mentioned, hope you have a good week.
