Hallo all:
OG: Love the photo of the two ducks (not sure which kind). But which of you got down on the ground to get that shot? The details on the drake are really striking.
Heather: I remember Circassian Circles - but only the name! What a wonderful time you had, sounds like so much fun.
Rita: Congratulations on your knee. Good for you. Seems like a lots of folks on here will be happy to cheer you along in rehab. :-) Do you have one of those walkers? (I think they call them Zimmer frames over there).
I'll be up at 6 a.m. to watch Federer/Djokovich game.
Here's to a good week for everyone and hope Margo is doing okay.
OG - glad to see the Mission Week went well. Hope you enjoyed your church tea. That is good news, AW coming to a place near you.
Brenda - That is unfortunate for your dau and boyfriend and the right thing has been done. It looks like the greyhound preferred to stay at the kennels where he was originally.
Lindybird - not sure when your son's wedding is but I'm sure that all will be well on the day.
Its been a wet and definitely grey day down here but it had to happen sometime during the summer. Might be a little better tomorrow they say~! Going to our ladies group garden party tomorrow at a friends house - probably be rained off so will have to have it indoors, but you never know.

Thanks for the news, Clare. Not looked in yet today so will probably read about it later.
Rita - that was the same with me. The physio said "up the stairs with the good knee, down the stairs with your new knee" and it works . I always try and remember to do that as it doesn't put too much strain on the new knee.
AQ - I remember being given two sticks (NHS issue) when I went home after 2 days and managed quite well with them, by the end of the six wks. physio I wasn't using a stick and kept the exercises up until then. I must confess I don't do them now. Still take a stick out with me particularly on holiday as I am always afraid of missing my footing and falling and don't want to damage it.
OG - some lovely pictures again, do love the one of the swan among the reeds.
Wow OG that's what I call value for money, glad you enjoyed it.
Lindy - lovely pic of Matthew - there'll be no stopping him now once that confidence is there.
Good morning, all. I'm now only two days away from starting at Minsmere - let's hope nothing goes wrong this time! Talking of Minsmere I can honestly say there's no place like it for unexpected sightings - can you believe that on Sunday they had an albatross? I can just imagine the excitement.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
What a good idea!

An albatross, CLARE? I'm no expert but that must surely be unusual. I'll have to get the bird book out...
Unknown said:Am reading Dead Wake, about the last journey of the Lusitania. Very good - reads like a thriller, but then the author is a great storyteller.
