Yesterday I wished for fish and a mobile cam. Odin kept his side of the deal by providing EJ with THREE fish. 5.01am, 8.04pm and 9.50pm.
The weather was pretty wet on and off all day, but it didn't stop Odin from adding quite a few new branches to the nest. As said by Sheila, "it's like he's building a frustration nest on top of this nest", and I agree. There was only one brief intruder episode that we noted, and it didn't come to anything.
It was lovely to see so much of EJ. Much more than of late, starting in the early morning too :)
Lets hope that today is as enjoyable to watch. Would be lovely with sound please.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Hello again, gorgeousness:
What a house proud bird he is.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
He has flown.
Oh such a lovely start to the day. A whole fish for EJ and a tail end exchange too.
Apologies for the abrupt disappearance yesterday, we had a major power outage from 17.00hrs for nearly five hours. No power, no wifi and no 3G, so no ospreys (or tennis!). Off to read stuff...
Oh, morning ALL by the way!

Odin's back again. He's watching someone. INTRUDER
A wing flap doesn't put them off
A near miss
A few minutes later, it tries again, but not so close this time.
Odin is back - a windy day
After looking around he mantles briefly: 10.06 he turned around and mantled. Did he see someone?
10.08 changes position
10.09 he keeps a wary eye around him
It sounds as though there is rain about too
He's back:
Something just flew past the nest - was it EJ or an intruder?
Hi, Sheila - good to see you back! Sorry to hear about your power cut.
Hello CLARE. It was a trifle annoying to say the least!
10.11 Odin is still standing on the rim, looking around.
He's gone.
And in a pause he opens his wings, then is gone, flying off into the background beyond
