  • Dear All

Just popping in to say that MOB person is gradually feeling a lot happier now. Tomorrow will be a sad day though as it is our friend's funeral which we will be attending. I have said to myself over the past few days how lucky I am to still be here and think this helped get to get through the miseries.

Billie and I have been chasing the shade around in the garden but found the heat a bit difficult to deal with. This morning it is cololer with some heavy showers forecast. Feel sorry for Billie though with all that fur, there was a point yesterday when she couldn't get comfortable. Thankful we did not get the storms that parts of the North had last night, as you know I am terrified of storms.

Thank you all for all your news, always enjoy reading through the posts.

    A few mentions:

rita hope the operation goes well, will be thinking of you next Tuesday. It is good that you were able to go as a private patient and get treated so quickly.

OG sorry you go have another problem to contend with. Hopefully you will be able to rest and there will an improvement eventually.

Lindy pleased your wedding outfit is now complete with the added pair of shoes so you can have a dance.

Heather pleased you too are all complete now with wedding outfit. Hope you have a good day. Was pleased to see you have had some warmer weather at last.

diane see another weather system is heading towards you. Stay safe I will be thinking of you.

Annette enjoy your days with your family.

Will try and post more but when I am in the garden cannot see to use my IPad as there are too many reflections. Also I am a tennis addict so have to keep popping in to see how things are going at Wimbledon. OH has suggested that he applies for tickets next year with wheelchair access and have a taxi there and back. it would be good to go again so fingers crossed. This is positive thinking on both our parts.

Have a good day all and take care.

    Love Margo x

  • Good Morning, and how nice to come on and find a nice lost post from our Margo!  Sounds as if you're feeling a little better, Margo:  and the heat is abating now so that we should be getting just 'normal' summer weather, so hope you can enjoy it. What a good idea to try and go to Wimbledon next year, hope you can get the tickets.

We had a crackingly loud thunderstorm last night as we prepared to go to bed, but had to stay up to keep Bonnie company until it passed over:  the sound of the large hailstones? big raindrops? on the conservatory roof were deafening! It passed over after about three quarters of an hour.  Its given the garden a watering, anyway.  I'm busy again, as off to visit Friend this morning and then packing for two things:  off to see our little family south of Birmingham tomorrow, apparently Matthew is now giving a toothy grin!  and then on Saturday, rushing off to our caravan in Wales to prepare it for them as they are having a weeks holiday there soon. We shall only be gone for two or three days this time.  I'm taking a new one of those whizzy dustbuster things you hold by hand as we couldn't keep up with hoovering last time, when Bonnie brought lots of bits of grass etc into the van.

  • Rita:  will be thinking of you next week, and hope all goes well.

Annette:  Enjoy your family visit.  Its nice that you manage to see them fairly often. Expect the beach will be popular!  Magnums are very popular here as its icecream on a stick:  they come in many flavours now, I have some in the freezer which are 'Baileys' which is a popular drink - havn't tried them yet!

OG:  You sound as busy as ever, though I expect that EE will have to do more than usual, if you can't use your hand.  Surprising how much we miss them when we can't use them for one reason or another!  Good news about J:  hope he recovers soon and can enjoy his prospects at the school.

Heather:  Good that you've completed your outfit.  Now you can relax!

Diane:  Keep safe!  you seem to get more than your fair share of bad weather.  I didn't have time to say yesterday, but we have those butterflies in abundance here as they are quite common, but have never seen a big swarm of them all together as you described! It must have been a truly wonderful sight! Unforgettable!

  • What a shame about our ladies football team!  They have done wonderfully well, so should be proud of themselves.

Wimbledon looks ridiculously hot and there was a mention of record temperatures yesterday.  I did wonder if they shouldn't have a recess until the evening as someone may have fallen ill running around in that kind of heat.

The year is rushing through:  July already, and someone said yesterday was half way to Christmas!!!!!!  Have a good day, Everyone!

  • Lindy safe journeys take care.

More  to look forward to next February. Joe Brown did not tour this year so I am delighted he is coming here again, front row seats booked.

  • Good afternoon, all.  I'm delighted to say I have finally had a successful interview - I'm joining Limpy as a Minsmere volunteer!  Woo Hoo!

Seriously, it's good to know that I'm going to have something to do and it's an enormous bonus that it's at my favourite reserve.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Woo-hoo indeed!  Great news, Clare.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • That's great news, Clare! - congrats! I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself, and of course we shall all want to know all about it!!
  • Margo - I'm so pleased you're all booked for Joe Brown. Can I come, & sit on your knee!? I love his cheeky grin! You are lucky that there are so many appearances in your neck of the woods from all these celebrities.
  • Well done CLARE You are going to enjoy yourself
