Yesterday was an incredibly quiet and wet day, with no sightings of EJ or Odin all day, on the static nest cam.
Then at 20.50 EJ landed.....hooray! Odin leapt into action, skydancing, mantling (funny boy, so serious) and nestorising almost until night cam came on. He put on quite a show.
Our pair are certainly still with us, I am very happy to say :)
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Hi, Odin - you just missed her:
He's gone.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Oh poo, I missed EJ. Here are a couple of shots.
Here's Odin :)
Sitting in the cup :(
Intruder spotted
Back again:
He looks less than impressed with the weather:
Mantling:
He has flown.
I missed EJ. (Very upset, we're down to one Cornish barn owlet and there's little hope for that one.)
Took a load of snaps of Odin just now, hopefully they're different:
IMAGICAT
An intruder made him very cross!
I have not abandoned the forum. Have been away for 2 weeks with no time to catch up. Have caught up now and am curious and nervous for Breagha. When is the next update due? Just this morning I have enjoyed the exchanges between everyone and your super pictures Scylla. Thanks all. Does anyone else think that Odin looks thinner than usual? I know the rain this morning might be contributing to that impression. All this mantling. Has anyone actually seen an intruder lately?
