Hallo all!
Quick look in. Woke up to rain - they forecast minimal/negligible amounts, but it's heavy and has been steady for about 20 minutes. This is the remnant of a tropical storm that's made its way up from Mexico. Had to dash out and drag chairs under the patio cover, cover up potting soil bags I hadn't bothered to bring in. Managed to snag the papers in the nick of time.... Just checked the radar and there's more to come...
Brenda: Won't be out for hours with daughter this morning; she has a docs appt and her dog has one for his shots.
dibnlib: I too was wondering about dressing up as a Rubik's Cube - seems like some construction would be necessary.
OK, better have a quick wipe off and head out....
A quiet day on here.
The Rubik's cube was a very large square cardboard box. Trouble came when OH needed to go to the loo. Then people decided to use him as a drinks bar.
OH back at work after 10 days hols. We had a good final day yesterday having a late lunch at Dores Inn. I had a very good wild mushroom and aubergene risotto and OH plumped for macaroni cheese. Dores inn is on the banks of Loch Ness, so we had a nice walk afterwards, and then a coffee This way OH was able to enjoy a pint of guiness with his meal, happy in the knowledge he was fit to drive a couple of hours later.
I see there is a programme on STV at 2000 about a litter of pups going through training. A must watch I think.
Hello all
DIBNLIB- I had been wondering too, about the Rubiks Cube!
Thank you OG for sharing your holiday with us, have a great time.
Rain, ANNETTE?
Sorry, not chatty tonight, very tired as we have been working in the garden all day again. There is so much to catch up on now that we have a few warm days.
Dibnlib, What a pity your holiday has come to an end. Does that mean you also return to work this week ? Sounds as if your OH may have regretted his decision to dress as a Rubik's cube :-))
Annette, We know you need rain, but you obviously won't want too much all at once. I am sure your garden is enjoying it.
Heather, We still have so much gardening to do. OH wants to change, where we had some beds, before the retaining wall was built, and resite them. Also he wants to change what we plant in the new beds. I want to know what we do with two large, red rhododendron and a pieris, which he has potted and are thriving. He has chopped up and thrown out so many bushes, which we planted when we first moved here.Hope you have a good rest and sleep tonight.
Linda, A neighbour is very excited, as she will be taking her pup for a walk, for the first time, tomorrow. Her pup is a twelve week old Jack Russell, who is still so small. I bought the pup a soft fur, lion toy, which growls when pressed on the tummy. The poor pup ran away when she first made it growl. LOL
"Chance of light, intermittent showers" has turned into a wonderful day-long soaking rain!! Yay! :-)
Diane - the stormy season - do keep as safely as you can and hope you don't get a tornado hit you. Do take care patching the roof.
OG - glad you managed to go through a part of Worsley. Know roughly where you are re Preston and Chorley - use to go the old way up to Lancaster many moons ago when visiting my "Auntie and Uncle". He was Parks superintendent for Williamson park for a number of years.
Sounds as though you had a lovely day at Martin Mere despite the cold wind. Enjoy your trip to Wales too.
HeatherB - Scampi and chips sounds yummy. We had salad and quiche as originally thought OH was umpiring tonight but it is next week so will have to think of something quick for then.
Went to the gym but pool was quite cool so didn't do full quota of lengths that I normally do, too cold. Will try again on Thursday.
