WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, MAY 31, 2015

Hallo all!  Pies, champagne, snacks on some folks menus and yes, OG, you will get addicted to BBC Rewind.

  • OG - that must have been a wonderful site.

Didn't go to gym yesterday as OH had a hospital appointment re a health check and was found to be OK.   Had to take Misty, one of our cats back to the vets re a thyroid problem. She is responding so had another blood test today and if all comes back well to keep her on dose of tablets at present and not to go back for 6 months - whew - it gets expensive.

  • Just had a quick skim through all your news, always lovely to hear what's been going on.   Nice to hear from you Margo and that things are not too bad.   Love the pics of Bonnie watching TV, Lindy.

  • Nice day out and about; will catch up tomorrow.

  • Good Morning, All. Nice sunny morning today, must get on with my outside jobs. What a glorious sight those swans must have been, OG! One you'll never forget. Hope everyone has a good day today.
  • I’ve slept away the afternoon recovering from nanny duty. Making “currant slice” for dessert (pastry base covered in raspberry jam, coconut, then currants soaked in lemon juice, topped with a cake mixture), I have carefully sprinkled flour instead of coconut over the jam. <sigh> Maybe not as recovered as much as I would wish. Yesterday was horrendous. MissJ would not go down for her morning nap til 1 pm & woke after an hour. By 4.30 she was so cranky but no way would she rest in my arms. The usual day spent pacifying MissL when Mum was unavailable & amusing Miss3 who likes to be centre of attention. Shuttling between babies & chores, I stupidly sat down for 5 mins. When I looked for MissJ, she was happily sitting in the wet after Miss3’s shower. She was soaked waist to toe in her warmest onesie. Dau had forgotten to shut door. There were a few good moments. MissJ can free-stand briefly and I saw her take 2 steps from wall to kids table. Last night Dau rang to say MissJ had a temperature, so that explains her problem day. I am waiting now for OH to come home from his rostered day. It’s the twins 1st birthday. Family party Sat week.

  • AQ:   Commiserations on all the hard work involved. One day you will be able to relate all this to two grumpy teenagers! My OH is getting the next boat over to Oz, now that I've told him about your currant slice recipe.......  He adores desserts with fruit in them, and yours contains all the things he loves. Must make a note of it  :-)

I'm cleaning out a kitchen cupboard - had to renew the Biscuit Tin and opened new packets - of course, I ate the broken ones LOL!   Found some cartoons I'd cut out  & left at the back of the cupboard -

One shows a couple sitting down to their meal, and the wife is saying "The meal we had last night was for tomorrow because I thought yesterday was the day after...."  He has paused, fork in hand, whilst he digests both her statement and the food. I think I kept it because nowadays I frequently forget which day we're on. Last week I thought it was Saturday on all of Friday, and nearly gave my OH the lunch we usually have on a Saturday (eggs)  Of course then I had two Saturdays in a row, so that was quite good! ;-)

Off now to plant more things into tubs in the garden.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE TWINS!

  • On behalf of L & J, thank you Linda. OH says he had an average day. He's now in his favourite spot - at his computer!
BTW You are aware that broken biscuits contain no calories?

  • Good Morning Everyone. The last couple of days have been rather hectic, between meetings and garden. Playing bowls this afternoon so have to try and do as much as I can this morning. Thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow and I have a hairdressing appointment tomorrow morning. I really do have to catch up with a lot of your posts. It is a lovely sunny day here.

  • Happy Birthday to Miss L and Miss J.

AQ, Pleased to read that your OH reported an average day with the twins and no more about raised temperatures.
