There surely cannot be any doubt about the fidelity of this pair now (and only this morning I was semi-seriously wondering if EJ had been having away days with BlueXD!).
It's almost as if they are taking stock, and saying to each other, well we've been through a really rough patch this year - desperately sorry about the babies, but we're here together, we're fit and well, the nest is ours and we're jolly well going to make sure it stays that way, so let's just sit here and enjoy the view. (EJ to Odin:- "By the way, dearest, isn't it about time you went for the fish supper....?")
Still there, preening now. 5 hours!
They must be getting ready to go home, and yes, the better nest view.
I know we're not supposed to anthropowhatsit them, but it's very difficult not to, seeing them so contentedly there like that. In a way I think they look closer than they do on the nest, because the nest is a specific location for a specific purpose, but they have CHOSEN to sit next to each other on that branch.
Just noticed we've gone back to the original nest cam, but it's been very touching and memorable viewing today.
I am so glad I was able to pop in and see them together. With the curret view on the lonely egg, I can only assume they are still sitting together, like Darby and Joan!
