Daily Updaters who weren't here yesterday are strongly recommended to visit pages 4, 5 and 6 of yesterday's DU, where those who were active posted scrumptious captures of Odin the Magnificent posing on branches (and perhaps some hazy, distant views of EJ) - the result of a second day of delights provided by Jen and her team at the Centre.
It was a day when EJ was in danger of losing her voice, despite getting a piece of fish fairly early on; and a day of more bonding - keep it up, you two, to be even stronger next season.
It was also a day when we needed LG to be "good", as we poignantly heard of happy events at other nests which EJ and Odin will forego this year.

Good Morning everybody - thanks for all the posts, pics, vids from yesterday. As always much appreciated as I wasn't able to keep watching. Going to be out all day today as well - Oh, the joys of being a nana during school holidays ;-).
Managed to stay awake for Springwatch yesterday evening - how lovely to see Minsmere - and thought about Limpy volunteering there :-D.
Hope everybody has a good day of Osprey-watching - bye for now - Ollie xx

Lovely
Morning Chocolholix. thanks for the info on the other two nests failing as it puts my disappointment for LG into perspective!!! Just going to check out if chick 3 lotl has managed to shed his shell!!
I'm sure Scylla will find it when she emerges but there was action on the nest after I posted at 04:36. I turned off laptop and was just about to turn off iPad when EJ arrived!
There followed a very interesting session with Odin landing and flying off a number of times - he came back with a lovely clump of moss which he carefully put over the egg! He did some housework with a couple of nest cupping sessions. He also mantled a couple of times but it was from EJ not an intruder - never quite sure what this means?
A couple of the flyoffs were to mate with EJ (looked proper?) and if it was the beginning of the season...
Odin's last housekeeping moved the moss and exposed the egg once more!
Out most of the day - will look forward to discovering other posters observations when I can look in.

He's trying to kick egg out, and failed.
He stands on the nest looking out for a couple of mins before he leaves
A very good mornimg to all you early birds and thank you for your posts and pice.
CLARE BIRDSONG MOFFER and SCYLLA for the headsup - thanks so much for those great captures of our dearest Odin of yesterday. Came home late to discover those - a delightful end to my bank holiday

I knew I'd have to do a careful scroll thru the night when I read your posts on page 1... but I'm a bit like a butterfly - need to wait a while to become fit to fly ;-)
Thank you everyone for all the pics and comments so far.
Odin's back nestorising, kicked the egg accidentally ;-) Nestcupping over the egg...
Odin is back with another twig and he's kicking againWhat will it take to shift that egg?
