It is a strange feeling to be starting a new thread with very little idea of what may or may not be happening later.
The big news of Wednesday was that EJ finally gave up on incubating the egg. I suppose the first point of interest will be how long the egg survives before it is predated.
We have been here before. In 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007 the Loch Garten nest did not produce any chicks. People might like to look over the summary of 2003 2005 and 2007 seasons.

Good morning Osprey Fans - what great news this morning that EJ and Odin seem 'to be friendly' this morning. Hopefully, he'll be about to oblige with some brekkie for her to really cement their relationship. I know that I wanted for EJ to leave the egg and go fishing for herself yesterday, but I couldn't help but feel 'down' when I saw that very lonely-looking egg(shell) yesterday evening :-(.
lol at Moffer hop-skip-jumping down the stairs at 4.30am :-D. If I tried that down MY stairs, I'd end in a heap at the bottom and my downstairs neighbour would be banging on the ceiling wondering what the heck I was up to ;).
I've another day of being out for the full day - so will need to log back on tonight AFTER I've been child-minding after work. Oh the joys of being a nana!
Already looking forward to hearing some more positive news of our favourite feathered-friends - luv Ollie xxx

Morning Ollie, have a good day and see you later.

Pre-daycam, EJ returned to the nest, incubated egg - meanwhile Odin skydanced for her and joined her for bonding (no fish, that would have been too much ;-) ).
It was a real re-bonding, EJ looking at Odin submissively, almost:
It's blurred, but you can see that EJ's tail was up as Odin left:

You're right Moffer, she isn't, so let's hope that is exactly why she's sitting there rather than just defending the nest from a nearby perch or the cam post

EJ has flown.....and back
EJ just took a very short break
Morning everyone - so good to see EJ and Odin, thanks Moffer for these brilliant early morning captures.
Hopefully Odin got rid off the intruders yesterday and things are more peaceful today and we soon see Odin again with a fish.
Edit: thanks Scylla also for the captures .. just watching the vid just now - brilliant :-)
Was well worth all your efforts Moffer, lovely to see the pictures of domestic bliss again at last!!!
Oh SCYLLA, that was amazing! I missed it live by the skin of my teeth :( Thank you so much for the pics and vid. If Cirrus sees this she'll be so happy. A proper mate!
EDIT. After watching again (for the umpteenth time) I noticed that Odin was putting sticks on EJ. She stayed laying flat out. Has he had a change of heart about the egg? It did seem like he was waiting for her to get up.
Thanks again Scylla!! what would we do without you!!
