You can't get rid of me that quickly LOL. Lawn (for want of a better word) is now mowed and more weeds pulled. Nearly packed.
No sign of EJ, and the egg is alone. Is this it? Will we now be faced with ENS, apart from the odd intruder? Will Odin continue to bring fish to the nest for EJ and then they both fly off. Will we see anymore of either of them?? I imagine they will still have to defend the nest to keep it for next year.
Hmm, did I hear a contact call off cam?? Perhaps they are both on the tree cam.
Thank you MARY for your update. I hope you have a good day tomorrow.

Only just realised that the egg has been left for so long - do hope EJ comes back with a whopper. Will she go back on to egg? So the saga continues...
MaryGK - thanks for your report from VC, it's always good to know what the news is from there even if not much is happening at the time,

And more male intruders with him. Wonder if that is why EJ left the nest.

EJ stood up and out of the nest cup at 14.22, where she remained on the rim, preening, and relaxing. She flew off at 15.24 and hasn't returned. So the egg has not been incubated for not far off two hours. I can't help putting the human side on is, but I suggest that yesterday's heart wrench call when she returned to the nest having only eaten a couple of small tail ends during the day, was she crying out. She has been a completely different EJ today. Much more relaxed and serene, and taking care of her feathers which we haven't seen for ages. And now being off the eggs, then away from the nest rather puts the finished scene to this very sad play. Has she now given up and abandoned the egg?
Don't bite my head off but had a thought that Odin just might have another lady elsewhere and that is why he has not been around as much - only a thought.
I suspect she will be on the tree watching and not fishing. Question is where is Odin has he had enough and gone or has he been chasing intruders since early dawn
Oh no, just seen a piece on LG FB. The intruder was Fenrir
Lynette, the problem is that Odin has been around and eating g fishing just not sharing them but eating them himself. Very very unlikely to have another nest. When you see him particularly last week he had clearly been battling intruders for days as he was not in tiptop condition. He has been around every day and when you don't see him and EJ is calling he is there.
