The saga of Loch Garten 2015 is far from over. We now have a name for the new male Finrir but the battle for Loch Garten goes on.
We will see what a new day brings.

Morning MOFFER CLARE and CHOCO
Morning Moffer! I wish they would update Google Earth for Breagha too, we need the son of Odin to move this saga onto the next chapter now!

Goodmorning, and thank you for this thread, without it I would be lost..... I don't have time to view regularly, so am unable to take part in your conversations, yet I feel I know so many of you!
(And I met LMac near LG a few years back ~ Hello).
It is really useful when there are regular recaps of events throughout the day ~ as even by lunchtime there can be 20 pages or more.......
I think what I'd really like to see EJ going off fishing and coming back with one of her whales so she can sit on the nest proudly in an attitude of 'Men! Who needs them?'
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I was just about to ask if the sound had gone as it was so quiet, now I hear EJ calling for fish, very gently. Scream at him EJ!
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Me too Clare! I can't remember the last time she actually left the nest at all for any length of time - there's been no chance for one of the males to remove the final bit of egg shell, which would also be for the best if they did...
If she did go fishing, Clare, I would rather she stayed well away from the nest to eat it, as I think she would be attacked for the fish. We don't know if the female or Blue Ring are still around, as well as Fen.
Good Morning Scylla and anybody else who's still around. Once again, thanks for all the overnight obs / pics / clips - can't believe the dedication that you all put in at this exciting time of year :-D.
Oh well - wonder what today may bring for poor EJ. Of course, we want to see a massive brown trout - courtesy of Odin, naturally - to build up her strength ................... followed by vigorous joint-defending of the nest by BOTH of them against Fenrir and 'that cheeky female usurper'.
Fingers crossed - Ollie x

Truthfully, I would also like to see her take a good long break from the nest - and yes, that includes wishing to see her catch a fish and scoff the lot somewhere quiet.
Good morning to all who have arrived since I last refreshed. Dare not say names, sure to omit someone precious ;-)

LEEN, you've no idea how much it means to me, and I'm sure to others, that our (sometimes frenetic, sometimes off-topic) monitoring of the nest is useful to osprey-lovers just like you, who simply don't have time to watch the nest as much as they would love to.
Some of us have never been to LG and will never, ever be able to go, so we are wedded to the cam and willingly share our experience with as much real-time* reporting as possible.
=======
*Though "real-time" may not be as real as we thought it was. I've seen that there is a 15-minute delay on what we see and really must find out exactly because it would account for why we don't see what the Centre sees when the Centre sees it! (And that's not including the outages caused by the poor broadband connection.)
At the moment it's not possible to ask anyone, as Carnyx has gone incommunicado and the Centre is rushed off its feet.
