The saga of Loch Garten 2015 is far from over. We now have a name for the new male Finrir but the battle for Loch Garten goes on.
We will see what a new day brings.
Tiger Signature
Thanks for starting the new DU, Tiger. I wonder how long the battle for LG will go on, and if the female who intruded on Monday, will try to get back in the picture. Although I reckon EJ's experience would deal with her. As for what male will end up with EJ? I'm in two minds. On one hand I think Odin will be victorious but I see Fenrir as a very determined young Osprey, and also we have a blue davric ringed bird, in the picture. Could he also be a serious contender? Of course Odin is the resident male, and in most circumstances, I'd make him favourite. However, his absence of nearly a week could have a bearing on the eventual outcome. I get the feeling that Wednesday's going to be another dramatic day.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
I've been up a while, first caught up, then strong-willedly did chores (not many), got coffee, now can post.
Thank you for starting the DU, TIGER - a saga indeed, it even has a couple of Norse cast members (do not test me on things Nordic/Icelandic!).
Thank you, HERON, for reflecting the confusion and anxiety that many of us feel, but not casting a shadow on the coming day. What talent ;-)
EJ appears to be sound asleep, I'm going to have a little 'scroll' back thru the night.
Very, very distant skydancing? :o Maybe I got water in my ears...
IMAGICAT
She was sound asleep for a long time without stirring, then she awoke for an eggshell-check - we couldn't be blamed for thinking she had laid another egg:
A comfort break (in a freeze) @ 0202hr, checking the area as she returned:
Back to what appears to be very sound sleep, and here we are now:
EJ was calling when I returned from the kitchen. It doesn't look as though anyone has been on the nest, must check...
Moment of waking 0358hr:
Silence for a while, then intermittent calling, still going on.
Small birds waking, greeting the day, but not many yet...
EJ hasn't stopped calling for longer than a moment or two and is sounding quite strong.
Off topic, but must vent ;-)
Oops, forgot to say that EJ had stopped calling but now I hear an arrival but cannot see, and EJ protested. No-one else is on the nest and the cam is not frozen :-/
The sound - was it the Pine Marten underneath?
.
EJ is now in full fish-soliciting mode.
