Daily Update Wednesday 6th May 2015.

Much Quieter at Loch Garten .

Yesterday was much quieter at Loch Garten with just a little showing of the intruder which Odin seems to have dealt with not too much fuss.
Yesterday was sadly a very wet day for EJ and she did look so uncomfortable.
Odin was last seen on the nest at 07:54. And has not been seen at the nest for sixteen hours so where is he?

The start of a new day EJ is sitting on the eggs and it looks like it has stopped raining.
And all is very quiet on the nest and still no sign of Odin.

I too was wondering whether they could possibly, just a weany, tiny, miniscule bit, have mistaken white chest for Odin, particularly if the reports from the FH are by inexperienced folk?  He did get us all confused for a while on 28/29 April.

Well, that's four of us thinking along those lines now Sheila.

Five. I hope Odin shows up for real in front of our eyes (or lenses).

  • Sorry, Paul, I meant to say hello!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Cirrus are you the same Cirrus that posted about odin delivery a fish early this morning and asking for confirmation. Can I ask where you read that wee snippet  good news if it is true.

  • Lmac, she was referring to the fish he brought yesterday.  And yes, there's only one Cirrus.

  • Ah it says this morning and was posted one hour ago that is what confused me

  • That bird's at it again, MOFFER, please put me out of my misery!

  • It's like a trill with two tweets on the end.  Sometimes.

  • Last fish was y'day (5 May) when Odin returned with a headless fish to defend the nest.  He left it behind to chase the intruder off, and I think returned again before heading out at 07.54hrs and hasn't been on the nest since.  It was a large fish, and EJ had three or four meals off it during the course of the day.  Whether Odin has had time to catch and eat one himself of course we have no idea.

  • My sound is so bad Scylla. All I can hear is a Chaffinch but it's sounds really tiney :(
