And so we begin another month. Osprey season is in full swing, with lots of action everywhere. ENJOY!

Seriously there can be no intervention - This is Ospreys as they live - the last time there were chicks on the nest.
If Odin does not return then EJ will look after herself and finally give up on the eggs.
Hope it does not come to that but the situation is grave and my guess is that one of the intruders may have chased him off and he is recuperating somewhere.
Only a few weeks back 03(97) - similar happenings and he went to the trout farm for a few days to recuperate then re-appeared with strength to gain his nest back but unfortunately the eggs were lost. A second clutch has been laid.
Yes I was remembering the Tesco fish.
I want to be there, especially with lovely Scottish music playing in the background, but there is nothing more I could do if I were. I have always said that my feelings do not affect the osprey. They live their lives as they will, and so it should be and is.
JUNE - In that case you can stand by the loch shore and play the bagpipes.
It is quite possible the intruders are a pairing looking for a good nest and are trying a COUP D'ETAT.
When EJs reserves run low she will leave the nest and go to her own Tesco's (ROTHIEMURCHUS FISH FARM) - she will be fine just the eggs sacrificed.
LOL Keith - don't know if I could take the loudness of a bagpipe that close to my ear and I know you could not take the noises I would produce from it.
It is quite possible the intruders are a pairing looking for a good nest and are trying a COUP D'ETAT. Very interesting theory, Keith.
It breaks my heart to think of no chicks this season or worse yet of a complete couple takeover. Neither EJ nor Odin as so old as to deserve to be replaced.
On the other hand, thinking of the return rate of EJ's offspring and survival of the fittest --- -- -- June! What a terrible thought!!!
But I think you have misunderstood my thought:
I want to be there, especially with lovely Scottish music playing in the background,
I didn't mean I want to be at Loch Garten with Bagpipes playing nearby. I meant that the music being played on the Jesse Andrews" Music of Scotland" on my radio makes me want all the more to be in Scotland near my favorite birds while they are in trouble.. And Jesse is really putting on quite a show today, playing beautiful favorites and some less familiar, but all very Scottish . Now one with a Celidh(?) beat - don't know the name.
Several minutes back EJ was checking her eggs.
But maybe this is the wrong picture or just not a good one, as we cannot see the eggs.
OOH< bad weather at Dyfi and Glesni is pretty much hunched down on her eggs. The nest shakes, wind ruffles her feather now 7 then and something big and white is falling. Snow?
