And so we begin another month. Osprey season is in full swing, with lots of action everywhere. ENJOY!
were I am reminded of a passage from one of my very favorite books of all time Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Tom (probably in his very early teens) and his buddy, Huckleberry Finn had been missing for several days - whether just hanging out on the river and Island or whether they delayed by some trouble I don't remember. Anyway they finally made it back home to find the town deserted. Looking around they found most of the town at church, attending funeral services for YES Tom & Huck. Knowing they were now in deep trouble, they listened to a good part of their own funeral before making their appearance down the isle.
Anyway my point is, apparently our mourning for Odin was premature. Hopefully He is in good condition and all will continue. Sad to say, the eggs are gone. Interesting to see what will happen now.

Here in the USA it is Mother's Day. This is a wish for a happy day to all mothers everywhere. Especially poor EJ. May better days lie ahead.
JUNE - First may I wish you a HAPPY MOTHERING SUNDAY
Have been travelling through Wales yesterday and today and internet was not on the menu but have been hearing the osprey news at different nests I have visited.
Well in 48 hours alot happens.
I would not rejoice too loudly regarding Odin's re-appearance. I am sure there will be battles ahead and not sure at the outcome of the nest.
At a more stable nest - I post a picture of one of our favourites (The Dyfi Male) eating his flounder he caught just after my arrival.
He ate half before taking up incubation and let the female finish it on the same perch.
Later a rest on the barbed wire fence post.
I also know some take an interest in the osprey known as Dai Dot - Well his partner was sat in her nest - her head visible and obviously sitting on eggs. He was around the reservoir briefly.
Thank you for the photographs Keith, hope you had an enjoyable day at Dyfi.
Thank you for the update on Dai Dot and his mate, I hope they have a successful season.

Oh, I was hoping the "other nest" you hoped to see would be Dai Dot. I am so glad to hear that all is well with him. Willow will be glad to hear, also. Apparently Dai Dot learned quickly the proper way to treat his lady. He wasn't doing too well with his courtship techniques at Dyfi, if I remember correctly.
Hi Keith, any word on blue 24 while in Wales. I would love her to have returned to the nest she started last year. She seems to have gone very quiet which is a goodish sign that she is busy with eggs elsewhere
I agree about sitting tight before celebrating Odin's return
Thanks so much for the lovely Mothers Day/Mothering Sunday greetings, Keith. I knew y'all called it Mothering Sunday - but still not sure, is it today or some other Sunday soon?. I'm inclined to think they were not the same Sunday, but not sure.
June - Mothers Day has been and gone here. It was back in March. Hope you are having a good day!
