The best that can be said about yesterday is that it was not quite as bad as the day before - and of course that our doughty couple, Odin the Magnificent and EJ the Phenomenal, retained their nest, with eggs intact as far as we can see.
Sadly, the month of May starts out badly, cam-wise, as it's been left out of focus for the night. (I know there's a bad grammatical error there, but am not going to change it.)
EJ has tried to get some sleep:
What sounded to me like a single, quiet, osprey chirp woke her up:
She tucked her head back but not long afterwards the same thing happened. She got up and checked the eggs, had a flap and went for a quick flyaround:
Interesting wing feathers as she took off with a chirp ;-)
She was back less than 20 seconds later, watchful:
Soon back on the eggs and ready for sleep:
IMAGICAT
VLC froze too Scylla. One second Odin on the nest ...long freeze...then EJ
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Someone landed very briefly on the nest and then Odin zoomed in defending.
Intruder tried again but both EJ and Odin were defending.
Thank goodess they have both managed breakfast before intruders harassed them
Odin flew after a few minutes. All is quiet now. If I were that intruder, being faced by that team on the nest, I would high tail it out of there and look for an easier option.
Sounds like rain.
Morning all - Thanks to all for all the updates and captures - hopefully a more peaceful day ahead.
So pleased there was a good sized and early fish for EJ and tat she had a good long break. Although intruder(s) still there it or they not so brazen
I won't be here much today. I have to catch up on some H/W and go shopping. I'll watch for as much as I can.
All quiet at present with EJ napping on and off. I think it's stopped raining.
I thought it was very nice that EJ appeared to sit feeling secure while Odin defended his nest and family.
