In order to help Scylla to reply to Peter at Carnyx it would be useful if posters could indicate their preference as follows:
If as many people as possible could indicate which option they think better that would be very helpful. Many Thanks

I'm going to be different and say I'd prefer the first option as it means we don't miss any of the action, even if some of it is a bit blurry.
G
I would go along with the second option but whatever is decided then I am sure we will accept it.

It is so nice to have a clear picture, but it is irritating to have the stop start flow when we could miss something important. I have also had sound drop out, or a still picture with sound so I can only guess what is going on. Having said that I think I prefer the second option.
However, I feel that those who provide us with such brilliant videos for close scrutiny and analysis should definitely have the final say. So I am leaving the decision to them or the majority. Wimp, I know, sorry!

LOL Lynette, we will have no choice but to accept it, but never give up your right to complain! Even tho we do want to do so as graciously as possible. (Just joking. :)
Then I wrote a serious answer, but now it's gone. Since Limpy made a point of asking Gabfest for votes I will rewrite.
I saw this thread earlier and decided that I do not know enough to vote.
Of course we want a better picture, but what does "skip a few frames" mean? Will it make for a 1920's film? Will it skip enough at a critical point to miss important action?
So I think I still won't vote and just let this opinion speak for me.

I think that says it all and I would agree and trust their decision.
Birdies LG DU update.
I'll go with the majority!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
The other thing to do is bring pressure to bear on any possible influences for improved broadband service. What is happening in the region around LG with the previously trumpeted superbroadband rollout to rural and remote areas? Perhaps lots of us should be repeatedly asking BT and other suppliers as well as MPs, MSPs, Councillors and Government departments!
It's not just the broadband service - the whole communication infrastructure there is poor because it is so remote.
