Good news No1 is that Odin's injury can no longer be seen, whatever it was has washed right away :-)
Good news No2 is that there's been a blessed thaw :-)
The bad news is that the intruder has persisted even more cheekily today, disturbing EJ on the nest - but she firmly got rid of him. I took some snaps from the video Jen kindly supplied:
Girding her loins:
A flying tackle:
A sharp shove and he fled:
Just before midnight LIMPY took some beautiful shots of EJ, here's one I love:
She is now quietly resting:

She's back again. Must have been a quick comfort break.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
This is looking more relaxed:
EJ, you beauty!

Oh, dear! I was rather hoping Odin was fishing , not intruder chasing. Surely he would have been back from the latter by now?
Good morning to all, I see all is well on the nest.

Good Morning Limpy. All is nice and peaceful now, but lots of drama earlier.
Cirris, he probably has gone fishing, but he was absent for hours yesterday chasing an intruder away.

Whew, what a morning, again!
I am sorry to hear MOFFER, that your back is really playing up today. I hope you can find relief
Thank you CLARE, for catching Odin's 06.51 fish this morning and for catching the intruder (CLARE, SCYLLA and MOFFER). I hope the FH team are able to read the ring number. My goodness they have been persistent this year. It must mean there are a lot of singletons wandering around which I guess is good news.
It's lovely that the cam is so much clearer, but a pity about the stop start. EJ is preening, stop-start...!

Well done CLARE. A lovely photos of a defending EJ!
Hi all. Thanks Syclla for starting us off and for the night-time captures. Thanks all for your updates, pics. Some really clear ones. It was a chilly start again then but its cleared away and the sun seems to be out. EJ looks more settled now. Is your thinking that it could be one of EJ's youngsters trying to stake a claim??
