Our idyllic balloon has been punctured:
(1) By unexpected and significant snow. Odin has fished and EJ is toughing it out, and so must we.
(2) By an injury to Odin the Magnificent, his right leg is bloody on the outside. It happened between 4 and 6 yesterday afternoon and must have been caused either by an intruder (and LG are using the plural for yesterday) or a fishing accident. Odin is toughing it out, and so must we.
EJ has just taken a little exercise on the nest and is now back on her eggs.

I was just talking to someone along those lines, MOFFER - heaven forbid! No, I haven't seen the eggs for ages but am kinda busy with a spider ;-)
OK Scylla, have fun ;) I'm watching.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Doesn't bear thinking about MOFFER. I'm sure EJ realises (especially since the snow)that 3 is more than enough.
EJ eating snowBefore turning her eggs. Still three I think....thank goodness.
Looks like a slow thaw happening on the nest now - but there could be more snow there over the next couple of days!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Beautiful EJ waiting and watching for Odin.
EJ took a short comfort break.
I think that is enough of the Christmas Card pics, don't you.
Lets hope the sun shines on these beauties from here on in :-)
EJ's had a nibble of bark to stave off hunger pangs ;-)
