Our idyllic balloon has been punctured:
(1) By unexpected and significant snow. Odin has fished and EJ is toughing it out, and so must we.
(2) By an injury to Odin the Magnificent, his right leg is bloody on the outside. It happened between 4 and 6 yesterday afternoon and must have been caused either by an intruder (and LG are using the plural for yesterday) or a fishing accident. Odin is toughing it out, and so must we.
EJ has just taken a little exercise on the nest and is now back on her eggs.

So good to see Odin back. I too hope the young usurper takes the hint gives them both a bit of peace

I remember a strange story from years ago. The Odin who fished at remarkable speed! Here is link to that time...scroll back to check the events.....
Ah, and how bad was the camera pics then!
That bleached EJ and Odin story
Is that frost gathering on the nest, or just a trick of the evening light?
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
I remember that Badgie. The young male Osprey that pooped itself on Moffalots approach while Odin was dancing. We had still cams as well in those day, alas no more.

I think it's the light Goldfinch. It has to be pretty cold at LG tonight. Snow was reported for the area overnight I read.
Night cam has come on at 21:27.
