Happy New Week.
I thought I should post something before this page went off the front page :-))
Good Morning Everyone, Still dry here but the rain is on it's way.
I hope Heather and Annette are feeling much better today.
One of the builders, we originally asked for a quote for the retaining wall and didn't turn up for an appointment, arrived at the door this morning. When OH told him that the job had been already arranged and as he, the builder, didn't even keep to the arranged appointment, we no longer considered him for the job. He then wanted OH to tell him what we were going to pay, as he was sure that he could come to a better price with him !! OH politely told him to leave !!!
A quieter day for us, but I do need to go out for a few essential food items.
Good morning.
Brenda – sorry I assumed your neighbour was older! I was probably remembering the one who left a couple of years ago. We had rain overnight but no frost. Nice morning, but expecting showers later – still a cold wind. OH is still waiting to wash second part of decking – he could be doing it now, but is waiting for a phonecall, so cleaning dining room instead! I had Blueberry muffins in the oven before 9 o’clock, so taking a break now. I shall be re-potting my Courgette plants later, and possibly some Geranium cuttings. Rather cheeky of that builder – pleased to see your OH got rid of him. If people can’t be trusted to keep appointments, it’s no good trusting them to do work; Daughter found that out during her recent building troubles.
Everyone – have a good Wednesday! J is working the extra day again this week; he seemed to cope well with it last week, and is much stronger this term, having got through the winter blues.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Wow, OG, You are so good. Blueberry muffins already in the oven by 9am. Yes, we couldn't believe that the builder could be so cheeky. We learnt our lesson, last year, with the painter and decorator, who started in April and didn't finish until July. He took two holidays, besides working on the Chelsea flower show and other odd jobs. !!!Pleased to hear that J is now fine.
Ummm...It's almost 10:00 a.m. here, and I'm still waiting for my blueberry muffins to arrive, OG! (LOL)
Margo: I'm glad you had good news!!!
Annette and Heather: I do hope you're feeling all better.
Lynette: Your photos were lovely. I'm glad you had a nice holiday. When I was very young, I got a dime every day to spend on a small soft-serve ice cream cone from the Mister Softee truck. Mister Softee trucks roamed the streets of the northeast U.S. playing their familiar jingle, and they were much beloved.
Hi, Brenda and all.
Well it's only 7:46 a.m. here, so there's still time to have OG make an extra batch of muffins for the U.S. contingent! :-)
Better every day, thanks Diane, Lynette and Brenda (don't know about cheeky - bloody nervy if you ask me, but OG is right in that if they can't even show up to quote a job without calling in advance to explain why, you can't rely on them).
Talking of which, the guy who was supposed to be here last week to plant a small tree and shrubs (he claimed cross communications) is now set for Saturday morning!
take care all.
Welcome back Lindybird. Are you sure the Mad Spaniel didn't eat your OH's sponge bag?
