.
The idyllic start to the season continues, with the only blot being intruders (which come with the territory). Today an Odin-lookalike appeared to land on the nest but I'm not sure that it wasn't Odin putting himself between the intruder and the nest before chasing it off.
This is what we could have had tonight:
This is what we have - at least it's not as bad as last night.
I suppose the people who adjust the "lights" can't see the outcomes because they're locked out of the VC ??? If only we knew.
Then at 0120hr they briefly changed the light again:
EJ checked the egg - all present and correct:
Someone out there? I didn't hear anything:
Poop and flap:
Another sweep of the lights (I know they're not lights as such, but what are we to call them?):
They're doing it about every hour:
IMAGICAT
Good morning everyoine . It's good to get your really early captures. Thank you. I'm sure that years ago we discovered those light were car lights didn't we? Anyone else remember? What am I remembering mmmmmmmm
Odin is looking good today (as he always does!):
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Hi, Cirrus!
'Lo there CLARE - very nice pic of Odin, thank you

Yes I do remember, CIRRUS, but these seem to be the infra-reds that get swept around - I don't think that car lights would remove the glare from the nest. Or would they? We definitely need a 24/7 mole at HQ for a week or so ;-)
EJ is back:
Odin flies off:
It's good to see the frost has gone from her beautiful feathers:
I think I've lost sound - I can hear the hum but when Odin came to mate then there was no "commentary"... or "musical accompaniment".
Odin briefly returns:
Still rampant!
She has flown again.
