The idyllic start to the season continues, with the only blot being intruders (which come with the territory). Today an Odin-lookalike appeared to land on the nest but I'm not sure that it wasn't Odin putting himself between the intruder and the nest before chasing it off.
This is what we could have had tonight:
This is what we have - at least it's not as bad as last night.
I suppose the people who adjust the "lights" can't see the outcomes because they're locked out of the VC ??? If only we knew.
Then at 0120hr they briefly changed the light again:
EJ checked the egg - all present and correct:
Someone out there? I didn't hear anything:
Poop and flap:
Another sweep of the lights (I know they're not lights as such, but what are we to call them?):
They're doing it about every hour:
IMAGICAT
DAYCAM 0528:
Frosty-feathered yet again!
I see it too, Scylla. My thoughts, someone must have an infra red light torch.... or some other such ir source, that they scan about for other wildlife at ground level, maybe from some forward hide.
A little preen:
Good morning, TRYING :-) I realised that I'd been letting the nighttime scroll-thru lapse. They do this thing with the lights quite a lot, starting as early as 2200. I hadn't noticed them doing it so frequently before.
Morning Scylla and Trying
I see there is frost again on EJ's back.
Not sure what those lights could be Scylla.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Morning Scylla and MaryGK:-)
I am not so sure that is frost MaryGK. It could be cam has turned to daylight cam, but that the light is so low, that the IR light is also still having an affect.
I could be wrong, but if that was frost, I'd have expected to see other signs of it on the nest.
Good morning all.
Birdies LG DU update.
EJ was following something overhead, keeping her eye on her surroundings.
Morning Mike, I see another frosty morning with the haar not quite disappeared yet.
Mmmmm, .... just checked online weather and temp at Boat of Garten. Current temperature minus 2 degrees C, so maybe you are right MaryGK, and I, as usual, have got it all wrong :-(
