Evening all: Welcome back, Alicat! As usual, all quiet on the LG nest; breezy at LOTL. FYI, I may not watch very late tonight as we have someone coming early in the morning to install French doors between the kitchen and "my" room and it's been a busy day.

LOL went to mate and the wind took him "way off target" and he flew to his "peeking " perch under the nest
LOOK AT 11 O'CLOCK and you will see his head
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Auntie: great pix.
That was funny. Odin sort of lifted off and hovered over EJ then disappeared out of sight. She was watching him as if to say, "Now what's he up to?" At which point he reappeared and is now perched on his "hideaway" branch so we can just see his head poking up. Amazing. And with that, I'm off to bed, quickly, before anything else happens. Night/morning all!
i`m here, Annette. And I thimk Odin is again in his "hide"
Well, I've just seen Odin fly in across the front (or is it back?) of the nest and onto his personal perch on the side of the nest. He seemed to do it easily, so there doesn't seem to be any obstruction for him. ;-)
Smiles, Jan.
Hey Auntie: Glad you and Barbara Jean are there; Our duo are in great hands!! Oh, and Wattle too. Three competent osprey watchers. Hurray!
He's obviously not hiding from EJ, as she watched him fly in, and he keeps popping his head up so they can see each other. He's just found a more comfortable perch than standing on the nest, without leaving EJ by herself. From the acrobatics he was performing on the camera post last night, I think if he could talk to the Team, he'd order a perch be lashed to the camera post for next season! LOL!
With Odin sitting on that perch that is part of the nest he is marking territory . Any Osprey that comes near there will know EJ and this nest are taken LOL
I have read that crows and other predators like to steal Osprey eggs . I am sure it gives her comfort to know he is so close to do battle with any bird with egg stealing on their mind
I wonder if Odin sleep on his hideaway perch at night?
Maybe some one at the center will know where he roosts
If what someone saw was a pine marten or rodent running across the nest then Odin may be waiting to help make lunch for a crow LOL
Well, actually, I could have sworn I saw him and his bandit mask sitting there under night lighting, but then the wind got up and bits of the nest started waving all ove the place, so I wrote it off as another 'parrot' thing!. Seeing him now in daylight though, he is exactly where i thought I saw him last night.
