Evening all: Welcome back, Alicat! As usual, all quiet on the LG nest; breezy at LOTL. FYI, I may not watch very late tonight as we have someone coming early in the morning to install French doors between the kitchen and "my" room and it's been a busy day.
I was so glad to see my first piece of action today.
We had some debate earlier, Soosin, about the exact number of fish, as the 1st one was so large that its possible it was still being passed between them, again, later in the day.
Oh aye, I remember reading that. Cirrus thought it was too much for EJ to hve eaten.. Still two fish today is probably really good considering the weather up there. Odin happily incubating. He does seem to enjoy it omg snowing again.
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan
Wondered what the noise was!! Big 'lumps' of hail falling....
Odin sitting fast on the eggs, in spite of large bits of sleet/hail hitting him squarely on the beak...
the nest is turning white already.
Yikes! Snow now lying on the nest, temp has dropped to zero deg.

Our birds seem to cope with it all, marvellous.
Now its stopping, thank goodness. Nest looks like its been dusted with giant icing sugar.
EJ returns, and has to prise him off the eggs,as usual !! He gets off with much reluctance.
EDIT; Then off he flies, EJ looking as he goes, as if to check in which direction he's heading.

Good evening Brenda H, when I first looked in seemed as though the sun was shining., I then had another look and Odin steadfastly sitting on eggs with snow/hail coming down on him. EJ has just returned and they are having their usual conversation before he probably flies off again. And he has just left.

the nest has never had a chance to dry out at all this year. Must be difficult, I would have thought. to keep the temperature right for incubation The base of the bowl always looked quite damp when they were scraping it out.
Ej returns and Odins moves without any hesitation tonight. Hailstones maybe too much for him.lol
