Evening all: Welcome back, Alicat! As usual, all quiet on the LG nest; breezy at LOTL. FYI, I may not watch very late tonight as we have someone coming early in the morning to install French doors between the kitchen and "my" room and it's been a busy day.
Hi Annette.
If you have a chance read my post on the thread "News from other Osprey nests"

It is still raining at LG . Poor EJ I hope she isn't planning on laying an egg in this awful weather
EJ is half dozing and half keeping a lookout, over the last half hour the wind has been relentless, but I hope it is just the microphone effect. Grey light of dawn is now present, may switch to normal camera soon. She just stretched, showing only two eggs still. Going to turn over to sleep mode (me), bye.

I've been catching up on the Chat page. Sorry I missed you jsb
EJ awake and looking about, at least I assume it's EJ. Last night I assumed incorrectly, If I'm not careful, Odin will fly past with one of his big sticks and bash me on the head to wake me up. Doesn't look windy there (not like at LOTL) and can't see rain (we're still in B&W) but there's an incredible rushing noise in addition to the tiresome buzz.
Barbara Jean: Oh wonderful news for you about the osprey in your neighborhood (so to speak)! I'll google Big Muskego Lake and see what I can find. I bet Diane would love to know too.
I'm going to sign off right at 10 tonight (our time) since I really do need to get regular sleep - and the season has barely begun.
Oh okay - that must be the wind since I can now see EJ's feathers moving. Geez. What a racket. Oh - and we have color. The image is so much sharper once the color kicks in!!
The day camera is on and the wind is wicked . There is an intruder right over EJ's head. I wonder if it was Odin I heard alarm calling
The deep nest cup that Odin dug may be helping keep EJ a little warmer . She is sitting low in the hole
I think Odin just flew over - somebody did anyway. Huh, loud screeching from something overhead and EJ is looking up, but not moving from the eggs. And a few minutes later, another strange (to me) cry - and a crow, which caught EJ's attention. But still she remained on the eggs; no mantling.
And here's Odin - saw him coming from way over the trees in the distance. Can never get over that sight! He's looking perky and alert today!
It appears Odin is on Sentry duty early this morning
OK. They both were very alert and watchful for a minute, but now Odin seems to be poking about the nest a bit. EJ is making no sign of moving. I really wonder what kind of communication goes on between birds.....well now I feel I can't go to bed before one of them makes a move. Is there anyone else out there watching?
