No extreme weather yesterday, and our osprey couple spent the day mating enthusiastically and nestorising, breaking off to deal with an unseen intruder.
A leftover mystery solved - EJ was brought a headless fish in the morning but didn't make a move to eat it for... how long? Over 4 hours! It got covered a couple of times, EJ sniffed at it and snubbed it, but eventually she flew off with it @ 11:45hr:
The nestcup situation remains a concern to some of us, it seems to be harder this year to scrape out a good shape even without the problem of the PM hole.
IMAGICAT
We're back - forums working again! Nobody at home at the moment...
Tiger and Chloe's Osprey Info
So I immediately hear EJ's chirrups and she returns
Good afternoon, BIRDSONG :-) Good to see I'm not the last of us to twig ;-) I'm getting ready to spam with some pre-prepared garish snaps, but just doing something else for a mo or two :-)
OK, here are some stages of nest disarray, which both tried to rectify but it took Odin to make it respectable.
Back soon.
As above, the wind has been blowing the front sticks onto the nest, EJ was constantly bombarded early on.
Oh blimey, I told you I'd garishfied my snaps but didn't realise they were this bad ;-D
EJ at DAYCAM 05:55hr:
FISH @ 0856 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not pictured until later when it was possible to get something that looked like a fish:
EJ took her time but only 5 minutes, not 4 hours like yesterday!
Both EJ and Odin nestcupped in the PM hole area:
EJ crouched for more than half an hour:
Odin brought lots of sticks, including this bark slab:
He did lots of tidying, as said, and had a standing-beautiful session, from which these not-too-blurry snaps have been taken:
Respectable nest:
And throughout the day so far... LOTS OF MATING! :-)
Odin arrived cheeping, EJ followed him in: mating, he left.
What happened to the lovely bit of red decoration that arrived in Scylla s 1211 snap but had been removed by 1256. Very decorative but maybe EJ thought it clashed with the green moss.

It was much duller with pronounced bark markings on the other side, and it got mingled with the sticks.
I like the squence SCYLLA and have pinched a couple knowing you won't mind :) EJ certainly looks like she is getting ready for the first egg. Need more cushions Odin , please. Thanks for the fish boy
Hello, Odin, gorgeousness:
He has flown.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
They are back:
