A Google search revealed this so I have started a new thread has been suggested.
Birdies LG DU update.
Quite Clare. Shame you weren't doing the interview!.
Isn't it just. There are all sorts of people I'd love to verbally back into a corner - though I think my temper would get the better of me with many of them. Still, for those people there's always the alternative of a long walk, a short cliff and an anvil.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Great mental images your words have created C!! Lol

Unknown said: In seriousness as the concert has been given 3 years I hope it goes well for all parties and all wildlife are left happy and safe after the event. Will be delighted if this can go ahead with no disturbance and harm coming to the osprey family. If that happens then next year we would hopefully not see the bad behaviour such as destruction of the nest area in the lead up to the event if all parties can co-exist

But it's not just Ospreys; what about Bats, Otters, small Mammals, other fauna and flora .....
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hi OG you are right and that is why my note said "all wildlife" in the first sentence. However I am not sure that any laws were broken re the other creatures to the degree of nuisance that was caused illegally at the Osprey nest. Certainly none that were reported
And interesting post on their FB page suggests that so far not is all going well, oh and it's pouring with rain. I feel sorry for those who have paid good money to attend this festival. The location was totally wrong.
"Not looking good in the green or blue campsites, complete riot! Supposedly 'zoned' off, its one massive field of tents, severe lack of toilets and security. Hate to think how long the folks arriving today will have to walk to find a pitch, we walked for over an hour to find ours after a 2 hour drive to find the east car park as none of the stewards knew where it was. Shambles in the Park"

Can't think of a worse place to be Sheila. The mind boggles at why you would want to go there but I am probably just too old now. Not sure why they are worried about lack of toilets, patrons normally take two tents and leave them behind standing; one of which has been their toilet!!!! It must be a disgusting mess already with the rain, which I think will be around for a while. The venue is a lot smaller than before with the same number of people anticipated to attend.
I see that the event is going to close with Noel Gallagher's band 'The High Flying Birds.' Wonder if we will see any other high flying birds (ie flying high and southwards) as a result of this event? Sorry to be a party pooper, but I can't wait for this to be over on Sunday, the clean up operation to be completed and the impact on the wildlife to be assessed (who's doing this?? - Anyone know?)
I assume the company running the event will clean up to some extent - but not sure who will check it for health and safety, habitat disturbance etc. Assume there will be a council debrief to assess the next two years which were only licensed subject to conditions! Surely licence will be withdrawn if this year didn't fulfil the criteria!
